Love prizes ... Let's see, Lucy was harmony singer with Shawn Colvin in the late 80ies ("Steady On", boohoo, I don't have it) and that CD was produced by John Leventhal ... is that a connection worth a price? I googled a bit and it looks like John Leventhal, Lucy and Joanie played at the Bottom Line last in a show called "A Gift of Music" ... but I do not find much information. And a third try to connect them all: I love them all :-))) dierk > > the ONE CD i cant stop listening to is joan Osbourne's new one..its 70s R&B > or > > Soul covers ..produced by john leventhal... Lucy gigs after the Jazz Cafe? We saw Lucy's concert two nights ago at the Pontardawe Arts Centre in South Wales. (Wales adjoins England to the West - before you cross the Irish Sea to Ireland. The gig was cabaret style seating... maybe 120 audience... terrific sound and an excellent night. (I saw her last year touring with Alice Peacock in support - that was in Chester, UK - great gig also) We have a great National BBC Radio show over here called Bob Harris Country and a lot of the Pontardawe audience had never seen Lucy live before but had heard him play her music. Anyway... they loved her... she's got the lot hasn't she? Integrity, poetry, emotion, intelligence, good stories... a voice!!! The list could go on. We were awed by her September 12th song... my sixteen year old daughter came too and told Lucy afterwards that it made her cry. My thirteen year old son came along for the ride and is a big fan now. She signed a CD for him and it is now on his shelf with Korn, Slipknot, Greenday etc!!! So over on your side of the pond... be sure Lucy is in safe hands touring over here... she has a growing fan base and if you're lucky we just might let her come home! Good listening, Peter ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 29 Sep 2002 15:47:28 -0400 From: Jeff Bernstein Subject: Re: [lucy-list] paul brady and Nanci griffith and trivia Sharon wrote: > ( for those trivia experts- What folk club was on the site of the > NOw underground and how does Lucy K fit into the history of that club) Gerde's Folk City, where one Rick Litvin was introduced to Lucy by Robbie Wolliver, which led to the kitchen floor incident. > Soul covers ..produced by john leventhal... Lucy used to sing with Shawn who used to be the significant other of and still uses as a producer John Leventhal who is now married to Rosanne Cash who... We can get lots of places from here.
