I asked you to discontinue my association with this and take me off your list. Now, I am telling you to get me off this list, IMMEDIATELY. kggreen.123.net ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 29 Sep 2002 01:17:46 -0400 From: "Benay Bubar" Subject: [lucy-list] a reminder, and New York music musings Although Kitty G will probably be told privately as well, for anyone else who needs to know, the correct way to uns*bscribe from the lucy-list is to send email to Majordomo@smoe.org with "uns*bscribe lucy-list" or "uns*bscribe lucy-list-digest" depending on which format you're getting (and using the actual word, no asterisk...I'm just being especially cautious because I DON'T want to be taken off the list) in the body of the message. This is in the subscription email that everyone is sent when they join the list. I hope Kitty G has gotten off already and that she finds what she would like elsewhere, should it in fact exist ANYWHERE (I'm not too clear on what it is)...but if anybody else wants to get off the list, now or in the future, and forgets how and needs to ask the list, it's preferable to do so politely, however "annoyed" one may be...because when the only thing coming through the Lucy-list all day is a rather vehement complaint, it doesn't exactly make the list less "annoying" for anybody. And it sure doesn't make those of us who like the list and want to stay on it feel much in the mood to contribute. But I'm going to do so anyway, at least briefly, because this isn't generally a negative list and I don't want it to end the day (well, technically, the day HAS ended, but I haven't gone to bed yet) on a negative note. And it has not been a negative day...while of course there's been no Lucy hereabouts of late, New York has managed this weekend to host Nerissa and Katryna Nields (at Fez last night) and Dar Williams (at Joe's Pub tonight, and she also did a cameo appearance to sing One Hundred Names with the Nields---the grammarian in me still always wants to call them the NIELDSES, but I gave in on that one a long time ago---at Fez last night). Dar's appearance at Joe's Pub tonight was a talk with a New Yorker reporter as part of the New Yorker Festival, followed by a short set of songs...it was an intimate venue and a really great conversation. I'd love to see Lucy do that sort of thing someday...not sure it will happen, but I can dream! Lucy always seems very well spoken in interviews I've heard on the radio, and SEEING her interviewed would be a lot of fun. (After her having handled Bryant Gumbel with aplomb on CBS This Morning in March, I'm sure she could take on any interviewer now!) So what's going on with Lucy over across the pond lately? Has anybody been to any other shows after the Jazz Cafe, or did Lucy just do that one show and then flee to parts unknown? Inquiring minds want to know...
