The theater is newly renovated and conviently located next to the Washington House Restaurant(same owners). There was no opening act. Lucy commented that she never had a theater open the curtains while she was on stage waiting to perform. It was very neat!!! Set list: Small Dark Movie Written on the Back of His Hand Secret Journey I Had Something Ten Year Night(Lucy got all choked up because it was the actual anniversary night of the kitchen floor incident...thanked her in-laws in attendance and dedicated the song to her friends Norm & Marianne) Don't Mind Me I'm Looking Through You(love this song...Lucy rocks!) Just You Tonight(piano) Loch Lomand Intermission Mary & the Soldier Scorpion Guilty As Sin This is Home Land of the Living Dad's Alphabet Song If You Could See(piano--the most beautiful song in the world--I hope Lucy records this on piano someday!!!) Someday Soon By Way of Sorrow Encores: Guinevere It Ain't Me Babe After By Way of Sorrow the curtains closed and the house lights came on. I couldn't believe there wouldn't be an encore. The audience continued clapping and Lucy stuck her head out of the curtains and asked to perform more. They opened the curtains and Lucy asked for requests. It was a fantastic show....great sound...nice theater....and the perfect set-list. I pass the torch to the UK. I will see Lucy again on Oct 19th in Hightstown, NJ--tickets are on sale!!! No, actually, I think that's totally great. Bruce is very cool for getting you surprise tickets! Of course, we all knew Bruce was very cool anyway. And hey, I can't be too envious...I wasn't even around...while Lucy was singing in Sellersville, I was in Maryland attending a real Chinese wedding banquet. Doesn't that sound like a creative fiction? It's actually true, though...college friend's wedding...and let me tell you all, or at least all of my fellow klutzes who sometimes only marginally manage with even ordinary silverware: you have not truly been challenged in life until you have attempted to eat (leaving aside the very real question of whether or not you WOULD attempt to eat these things at all were you not at a Chinese wedding banquet) such dishes as lobster (in the shell) and pigeon (we won't discuss how THAT was served) with chopsticks...knowing that it is bad form to actually STAB anything with the chopsticks in the attempt to eat it even though that seems like the only way in some cases...finally giving up on hoping to get anything much in your mouth in favor of simply hoping nothing sails too far across the room...all of this as you watch everyone else in the room (or so it seems) perform miraculous chopstick feats seemingly without effort. (Oh, and in the midst of this there were about 15 different group toasts that seemed to last hours...luckily, I was toasting with Coke most of the time, having managed early on to spill much of the only "real" drink I had, or else my minimal chopstick skills would have eroded COMPLETELY in short order.) Too much going on...sleepiness prevails...but major thanks to Donna and Rick and Kristen for the great reviews/setlists from this past week...they have kept me smiling, at least on the Lucy front.
