First off, I hope no-one was put off by the unusual grammar SNAFUs in my reviews. For some reason, punctuation marks like apostrophes and quotation marks were turned into little squares. Even ellipses (...) became little boxes. I believe it occurred because I wrote the whole review as a Word document first, then went on-line to paste it to the list--this so I would not drop off-line inadvertently while composing. Well I'm back at my regular posting computer now so those problems should be history. Hope it did not put anybody off... A lister commented on doing an idiotic thing this past week to his "Lucy on CBS" video recording. I can fix that for you. Give you your snail mail address off-list and it shall be done. MY super-dooper idiotic thing this weekend was being first in line at the Cedar Cultural Center show (which sold out its 400+ seats) then going and minstreling the crowd and helping those with extra tickets sell them to those that needed them. I only got through half of my pre-determined "Lucy-Line Set" because of all the distractions, including a street party with live music just down the street, emergency vehicles whizzing by, and my great propensity to chat with strangers. Doors were to open at 7:00 PM and I was to save seats for myself and a number of friends. Just before breaking into Slaid Cleaves "Key Chain", I asked some person at the back of the line what time it was and he said 7:05. Holy $&%@! I raced back up to the front, cased my guitar, and realized that Murphy's Laws would dictate that, even if I could SEE my car from where I was standing, the doors would surely open while I was bringing the guitar back. So I took it into the venue with me and Bob Feldman and Lucy graciously allowed me to stash it backstage in the Green Room. Here's what I managed to get through while in line: "Return of the Grievous Angel" (Parsons) "Every Single Day" "If I Had Known" (Brown) "Cowboy Singer" (Carter) "Don't Mind Me" (with a little modification of the 'on my knees' line!) "By the River Where She Sleeps" (Carter) "One Good Reason" and a short "Key Chain" I didn't get to "By Way of Sorrow" or "Who Woulda Thunk It?" but they were certainly on my mind as I narrowly missed doing the stupidest thing all year by being at the VERY END of the line when the doors opened (when, in fact, I was the first one to arrive!)
