BUT when the tickets arrive, they will be marked unreserved, with NO seat numbers...because this is in fact an unreserved show. I have learned this by sad experience. So we must all, in the words of another duped patron (OK, I'll concede that to be truly duped would be to be sold a ticket for a nonexistent SHOW...still, this was at least a mild trick), "line up with the other lemmings." I say we just declare an official Lucy Lemming party, in line outside the 92nd Street Y sometime on the afternoon on November 24th. Yes, it will probably be cold...but we're Lucy fans and we can take it! Yes, it will probably be cold...but we're Lucy fans and we can take it!<<< I've already declared a Lucy Lemming Party for the Sept 14th show! This is because Lucy has for several years now only played in my town in DECEMBER (just before going over the pond). Because the pond thing moved up this year due to Husband Rick's appointment to teach over there, Lucy's show here moved up as well. Making this the first Lucy-line that will actually be standing out in reasonable weather!!! I remember two years ago in 10 degree (F) cold with a howling wind raced down Cedar Avenue while the line grew longer and longer for the sold-out general admission show. What a drag!! But it made the seats we got seem so much more cozy. I hooked up with a Lucy-lister and her friends in the line last year (still cold but not so bad for December!) and it would be fun to do so again. How about some suggestions for how to wordlessly state that you are a Lucy-Lister while waiting in a Lucy-line. Anybody got any? Wear a _____________ with a ____________ on it? Timothy (PS I just got the Minnesota Public Radio network (which has full statewide coverage) to dedicate a Lucy song for a friend of mine (and a veteran of several Lucy shows herself) this morning for her birthday. After the song, they hammed it up a little with a dialogue like this: Jim Ed: "Lucy Kaplansky, who shocked her friends and neighbors by not going to college after high school but moving to New York City to become a folk singer. (pause) Then, some years later, shocked her folk music friends by going to college and getting a doctorate in Psychology. (pause) Then a few years later shocking her pyschology friends by deciding to become a full-time musician." Dale: "Yes, (laughing) Lucy's truly shocking!" Jim Ed: "But with a voice that has always met with critical acclaim." Dale: (goes on to announce the two shows coming up in mid-September) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 27 Aug 2002 10:51:21 -0400 From: bbubar@hearst.com Subject: [lucy-list] Re: Lucy-lines Timothy wrote: >How about some suggestions for how to wordlessly state that you are a >Lucy-Lister while waiting in a Lucy-line.
