It has a cover of Lucy's Ten Year Night and as strange as it is to hear someone else sing about the kitchen floor, on the first listen it is rather good. To add to the more unusual musical covers they have also done two Jonatha Brooke songs, Annie and Is This All? Three London-based Girls and Guitars (my Mary Chapin heritage comes to the fore!) one from Glasgow, one from Dublin and one from Florida, none of whom seem to possess surnames! Check out their website www.thealiceband.com and follow the link to Music where you can hear their version of Ten Year Night. It should be worth five minutes of your time. Also, for those who enjoyed Alice Peacock on Lucy's UK tour last Christmas, check out her free acoustic EP previewing her new album at www.awarestore.com. $10 to post it to the UK. Five weeks and counting to Dar Williams in Glasgow (and maybe Lucy in October?), seems like our UK musical drought is coming to an end.
