Lucy started with Jon herrington back in tow and Zev Katz The audience was familiar with her music and was an FUV crowd. Lucy ripped through her first three songs and then suddenly richard appeared on stage to join her..richard sang with LK for a set and played along..while he played his C3 guitar parts to Ten Year night..dar's harmonies were surely missed - -i still hear those harmonies on BY way of Sorrow too which they ended the show with..Maybe its just hearing voices - -well if you are gonna hear em. Lucy and DARs are pretty good voices to hear Lucy played her two new songs -they are more stunning than the words that kristen posted revealed. Land of the Living is more incredible in a new york crowd..the crowd reacts differently..see if you all at FRFF dont agree with me.. Lucy and richard ended with By way of Sorrow..Lucy sang the original C3 not the version Julie MIller wrote. AS Lucy did a Jazz quartet version of The Alphabet song in Mamaroneck , JON and Zev joined her on a trio version of Astroids for her parents anniversary 52 years.. Lucy added to Richard'set and was on stage for more than 1/2 of his show..her mike was next to spazzing RAD who was on acordian and i thought she was gonna lose it at one point but she reclaimed her posture and as the consummate professional held it together.. Fast FORWARD Stamford saturday..1st show... it was a quiet crowd in stamford they were polite and listened attentively.. Lucy played what benay reported- Duke LEvine adds another voice with his guitars and mandola..the man is a GAWD TO me..He will be with Lucy at FRFF so you all will hear him play with her..he just adds texture to her voice and guitar.. the setlist was more controlled for the first show and Lucy always puts on a more relaxed second show..and it was ..the song were more intense and lucy's delivery and sound was better i thought that she needed more vocal in the first show..so she could be heard over the two guitars and the sound in the second was excellent.. Benay posted setlists..there was little overlap between shows TEN year night, the new songs, LAnd of the Living were repeated Love NY (Bill MOrrissey cover) end of the day second show had Guilty as sin, nowhere, scorpion, 5 in the morning, LAch Lomand.. i just liked the second set lists better if you could see on piano. though i love HOT burrito #1 and that was in the first set thanks to LK for a great night of entertainment and ON to clearwater this weekend.. sharon who needs to go to her second job.. in a few anyone who was waiting for dierk's cds..i mailed them last week ------------------------------ End of lucy-list-digest V4 #130 ******************************* This has been a posting from the Lucy Kaplansky mail list digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe lucy-list-digest" in the body of the message
