Katy ~*~ "Now we don't live we exist We just run through our lives" Savage Garden ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 01 Jun 2002 01:29:46 -0400 From: "Benay Bubar" Subject: [lucy-list] Lucy in Tarrytown 5/31 Literally NO time for a real report since I have less than five hours left to sleep tonight...BUT Lucy's sold-out show with Richard Shindell in Tarrytown tonight was wonderful. As "Cry Squared," Lucy and Richard did a good many songs together, though each did an ostensibly separate set. I didn't keep a set list, unfortunately...but highlights included Lucy starting with Small Dark Movie (hadn't heard that from her in a while) and singing the two new songs. Richard sang with her on Ten Year Night, By Way of Sorrow, The Angels Rejoiced, Scorpion, and the end of I Had Something (when he first walked onstage). Lucy did some other ones without Richard during her set (but mostly with Jon Herrington and Zev Katz)... like Land of the Living...End of the Day...On an Asteroid with You, and my perpetual favorite ("no, really, Sharon and Suzi, it COULD be a lullaby if you keep repeating that really neat verse in the middle!") Written on the Back of His Hand. She sang with Richard during his set on the Springsteen song, Are You Happy Now, Next Best Western, Mary Magdalene (he should've just let her do lead on that one, though...she's the best at it), and I'm forgetting if there was anything else. They encored together with Love Hurts and Sin City. It was a very good show, and Lucy was in fine voice as usual. Sorry this is such a spare and disjointed description, but I really have no time to make it better...just wanted to report in. Thanks to Sharon, Suzi, and Chris for being such great concertgoing (and general) companions!
