Copyright reasons I guess. But if you can find it, I'm told that a piece of software called Streambox VCR can save these files. It's supposed to work quite well. Google www.google.com brings up quite a few sites where you can get it. Matt - --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). She also had the best lobster roll she ever had in her life. She didn't wear the leather pants, instead she had a pair of embroidered blue jeans, with the leather jacket. She opened with a george jones song, title unknown. She added a new bill morrissey song, which she had just learned that day. I am not knowledgeable on his songs, and can't remember the lyrics will enough to search for them on the internet. She also played the breatles/ McCartney cover " I've Just Seen A Face" . Her two encores were "song for Molly" and "goodbye". The rest of the two sets were easily recognizable: the tide, scorpion, don't mind me, etc. If I decipher my in the dark notes. A word of warning if youre going to use it, the latest version requires registration and the program "phones home" everytime you queue a download. May be an issue there if you're concerned about your privacy. Also, while on the subject of streaming, I think this has been posted before, but there is a Dar concert here: http://www.broadcast.com/entertainment_and_arts/music/rock_and_pop/artis ts/dar_williams_concert_and_interview/ Matt - --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. If you *are* concerned about your own privacy when using this product, perhaps you'd also care to spare a thought for the people whose copyright you're violating. Indeedy. Be it on the conscience of the user, personally I dont use the software and I do not, generally, condone breach of copyright/piracy. I say I dont generally condone it, I'm as happy as (at least in my experience) many listers are to trade concert recordings, radio shows, TV appearances, rarities etc. but I do stick to stuff that is not and where possible, has not been, commercially available. Whether or not this benefits the artist or not is questionable but this kind of trading among fans, especially on Internet mailing lists, is wide-spread. Not that that makes it right of course. Regarding the recording of audio/video streams though, I don't see the difference between "recording" one (using semi-illicit software or otherwise) and taping something off of the radio or TV for posterity. Sure, both breach copyright[1]. Both, by definition, are therefore "wrong" but hey, we all tape our concerts, football, favourite films, whatever to keep and playback over and over. The only difference is that with streaming media, the distributors can prevent this. As a final point, I spend a small fortune on CDs (real ones folks) and believe whole-heartedly in supporting the artists in their work. Whether that's just by buying the CD, or by buying T-Shirts, music books, going to gigs, whatever, I would hate to think - and in fact don't believe - that anything I do regarding the trading of copyright material is to the detriment of the artist or their bank balance. As a second final point :) Many of the artists (Lucy included IIRC), whose complete (original) catalogues I now own, were introduced to me via violation of copyright in one form or another. It is true that in many cases, copyright violation is harmful, but I do not believe that is always so. Matt - who hasn't mentioned Napster once [1] Technically, I'm not sure that is true because, as with "boot-legging" concerts, "personal use" is, in most instances, permitted within the terms of the act. - --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
