Hey, Chris, maybe you could ask Lucy what *she* recommends :) ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 20 Apr 2002 18:47:37 -0700 (PDT) From: S L L Subject: Re: [lucy-list] One Lucy song to create a new fan miss patterson stole my idea. definately ten year night, its original, its about love without being sappy and has a great sound to it. If they don't love lucy after hearing TYN then there's no hope for them...... ~simona Cpattersonhome@aol.com wrote: One song is a real challenge, but I have to admit that Ten Year Night hooked me. Do you have a live version of Ballad of Mary Magdalene? That would be my second choice after Ten year night. I will ask Lucy what she recommends. When I first saw her about a year ago, I asked her after the show which cd I should buy to introduce her music to a friend, and she suggested Ten Year Night. Every Single Day had not been released at that point, and we didn't discuss specific songs on TYN, but now I'm as curious as you about what she would suggest. I didn't really know why I liked Ten Year Night so much, but you said it perfectly. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 20 Apr 2002 19:15:29 -0700 (PDT) From: Deb Woodell Subject: [lucy-list] one Lucy song The one Lucy song I'd use in my powers of persuasion would be "End of the Day." But, she'll just pick up an acoustic, give you that innocent little girl grin, quietly laugh and say? "Nevah!" Yahoo! For instance, I think "Don't Mind Me" is the most mainstream of Lucy's songs and the most safe for introduction. If she likes angry chick music - "Turns the Lights Back On" is a good one without being too bithcy. If she tends to like folky, pretty things, "Mary and the Soldier" or "Guinevere" would be good. It's hard to say without knowing the person. What other artists are you going to be introducing her too?
