Lucy's sidekick's name is Matt Kartsonis. Matt is a studio player currently doing a lot of work with Warren Zevon and I guess has his own album coming out too. He is a very strong all-around string player. Plays the banjo too for those keeping track. Lucy really, in my mind, always delivers. A really consistent live performer. I haven't seen her have a bad or cranky night. In fact if she is a bit cranky it just makes all the angry songs better :-). I think she is generally pretty happy in CA since she usually has family at her shows both North and South. Sorry no setlist, but I feel really ackward when I am up front and writing, makes me feel like some kind of stalker spy. I thought it was cute how Lucy kept saying that she was having fun. Just out of curiosity, who have you seen that has been cranky and showed it on stage? I've noticed that John Gorka's mood comes across on stage, but not crankiness though. I've just seen him less relaxed a few times. It even affects his voice and playing in a funny way. I've seen Don McLean be really cranky. He actually walked off stage once, but I can't say that I blame him. The sound was so bad and they just couldn't get it right. So, he walked off and said, I'll come back when you get it right. When he came back, he apologized to the audience and said he would play extra long. I also saw him be irritated with a bass player, but here again, it was true. By the way, whoever it was that saw the Nanci Griffith falling star incident, I have to agree that "Every Single Day" sounds like it was about that incident. Did Nanci yell at the audience? Did she keep playing? Just curious.
