Recently, another artist asked Lucy what kind of song she typically likes to open a set with... up-tempo... slower... reflective... etc... etc... Lucy said that she likes to do something that will draw the audience in... really get 'em listening... typically something slower for her... get 'em settled in rather than revved up (which will come later with TTLBO *grin*). And I guess the openers I've most frequently heard of late fit that bill... Angels Rejoiced, Wayfaring Stranger (I guess it's been a _little_ while on that one), He Thinks I Still Care... So... what would be the ideal song that _you'd_ like to hear her open with? Or close? My answers??? Well... I personally LOVE Angels Rejoiced as an opener... it just sets a really relaxed atmosphere and... like she seems to have planned... draws me in... Something slower like that that you can really reflect on... mmmmm... when I heard her open w/ that one last summer at FRFF... wow. As for a closer... Well I personally love closing the set/show with By Way of Sorrow. I know that we hear it all the time... but I LOVE it... and I'll say it again... I hope she NEVER stops singing it... It's such a positive kind of note to go out on... And just makes the circle feel complete for me... But... as far as an _encore_ kind of closer (which I see as something totally different)... I like it when Lucy takes requests... But... I think it'd be soooo great if she'd close a show one of these days with "Goodnight"... I've been listening to that one a lot lately, and it's such a great song... I'm in Chicago, but Pittsburgh would be on my way. I can let you and anybody else know in a week or so, if you're interested. rick - --- Simona Loberant wrote: > i know this is waaay early to post about.
