What a great show at the Emelin last night!  The Birthday Girl & Band
rocked the house.  It was truly amazing.  The best "Birthday Party" I've
ever attended!!

I usually write my highlights of the evening but there are too many to
list.   It was a blast!  Lucy sure knows how to rock....now if I could
only persuade her to cover a Stevie Nicks tune.  She could do a stunning
version of "Dreams".

It was great fun to be with so many Lucy-listers.  Timothy(it was nice
to finally meet you), Sharon, Renee, Benay and Gerry.

Thanks to Lucy and Rick for a wonderful evening!!!

Well the second of the two sellout shows was better than number 1
the show started with NEW and FUV DJ introducing Lucy
for those listeners, dennis elsas plays lucy daily, if not twice during his
show. he was attentive and heard his favs in the first set, 
Dont Mind me, Written on the back of his hand but not Song for Molly. that was
the encore and i dont know if he was there that whole time, i saw him there
through the second set. 

Lucy began with He still thinks i care, that same country rockin version we
heard the night before, then written in the number 2 slot and and the fourth 
song
was dont mind me. 
There were covers lots of covers, Julie miller's broken things, Buddy's Hole 
in my head, The incredibly arranged Crazy Dreams. (sorry sheila) Lucy sang 
I know what kind of love this is better than i have ever heard Nerissa sing 
it. 
lucy sang the **** out of it last night.. you would swear it was written for 
her
voice. Hot Burrito Number 1 on the piano and Peace love and understanding 
with a full band
Lucy treated the room to traditional -wayfaring strangers and Bonny Banks ( 
it gave me chills last night) they both were stunnning 
Land of the living got a solid response there was lots of silence at the end 
of 
songs. the band and lucy were that good..

there were some outta control hecklers making it quite the interactive evening
some man was heckling lucy on her pants, someone asked her where she got her
degree and one guy informed her of richard shindells working schedule. ( what 
was
that about) Just because she said she saw RS at the airport

Lucy was in grand form and great voice. her voice is getting better and better
if you can imagine that and this band is the best of all . Ben and Ben and Ben
i mean ZEV.. two bald guys and ben with hair.. 

well as the show closed it was almost time. for a month or so, donna renee
benay and i ( the g-desses) have been planned a bday surprise. we talked to 
rick
and donna got a cake and plates and folks and napkins
and in two days the band was tipped off and last night was gonna be the night
to remember for LK. 
( we had our tickets since august as it was LK's bday show)

well it was arranged that two songs from the end of the show- pre encore, the 
band would play happy birthday and a cake would be brought to lucy on stage. 
she had no knowledge of this prior. well when i walked in last night. ben 
wittman had a plan and it
was effectuate by rick. during promise me.. next to last.. i was escorted to 
the kitchen to get the cake and to walk back stage. i placed candles on teh 
cake
and waited til end of the day ended. there was a wind tunnel back stage or a 
fan
that threatened the candles .. the song started to end and nervous about 
missing
the cues.. i heard a drum beat- ( lucy said later. she thought ben lost his 
mind
and was gonna end with the swimming song).. i heard the guitar and with my 
back
to the wind tunnel.. i walked toward lucy whose back was to me.. she looked
and said AW MY GAWD. is it for me.. and then proceeded to make a wish 
eyes closed and hands together and she blew out the candles.. 
the band played a rocking happy birthday .. teh crowd was loud and proud
and lucy was sweating..
in the lobby.. i slice as much cake as i could while leaving some for her and
the bands and members of the list and left teh rest for the first to exit the 
theater
i heard the encores from the lobby

when lucy came out she was overwhelmed for sure and was having one of
nights of her life.. seh said it would be memorable night and was touched
by the effort we all made to have a happy birthday.. she had gifts and cards
and was thrilled with the night.. 

she deserved a happy birthday party.. thanks to renee donna benay gerry 
timothy
rick ben ben and zev and kevin the house manager who was great .. about what 
we needed to pull this off and to lucy for playing in the NY area on her 
birthday.. 
she allowed us to give back just a bit of what she gives to us.. 

she got the emails that were sent to her.. also.. anyone else.. ill get them 
to her
and we got to wish her happy birthday...
