(can't even buy the new Doc album yet - have to order in or internet order) ...so please keep posting the reviews - they fill a too empty void of the missed experiences of seeing and feeling souls exposed in the act of the pure giving of music ...thank you sharon > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-lucy-list@smoe.org [mailto:owner-lucy-list@smoe.org]On > Behalf Of Sdgold60@aol.com > Sent: Saturday, 2 February 2002 9:03 > To: lucy-list@smoe.org > Subject: [lucy-list] 2 shows at Makor > > > last night at Makor Lucy was in the best voice as always > she never ceases to amaze me.. > > she and ben butler played two sets, the staples were there.. > the covers were there.. the leather pants were there.. > HEY even rick was there.. and lucy listers abound.. > here's the review i wrote for FUV.. > > > Lucy took the stage in a brown leather > jacket and black pants. YOu cant even imagine what THAT much better was. she bent and twisted notes and sang to one the best of voices that i have ever sang.. Best lucy show.. the one with Duke Levine. the better one .. the one i missed with Duke and Jennifer on harmony Lucy did two sets- she and duke tore through Everyday-the cd and most of Ten Year night with scorpion thrown in and the Lucy headed to the piano for JUst You tonight she took her guitar and played solo The bonny banks of lach lomand, and the second set opened up with solo lucy on Land of the living and her dad's alphabet song she also did hot burrito number 1 on piano.. and called it the song that made her want to sing... the cover songs were peace love and understanding by way of sorrow hole in my head broken things (no lucy show is complete with out the millers) he still thinks i care.. opening song End of the day ten year night one good reason five in teh morning written on teh back of his hand dont mind me song for molly Encore 1 turn the lights back on guilty as sin no where?? or was that thursday every single day with Duke on his own melody.. it was a killer.. i think she did for Once in yoru life at Makor.. i think in the second show.. i think MOre than this is on hiatus for now.. Lucy was in great voice.. and received a standing ovation, there were many NJ area fans and she pulled the house down She saw old friends and it was a night to be remembered.. i took photos of the makor shows and this show.. will keep you informed on how htey come back.. and will post them HEY RENEE sorry i missed your bday.. happy birthday to the bat girl of the night sharon There's a gypsy down on Bleecker Street I went in to see her as a kind of joke And she lit a candle for my love luck And eighteen bucks went up in smoke ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 4 Feb 2002 08:58:26 -0500 From: "Paul Rafanello" Subject: [lucy-list] Berrie Center NJ II 02.02.2002 What a night! My wife & I had a blast! We had not seen Lucy since the 09.20.2001 show at the Bottom Line, NYC. That show was a rocking affair, and on some tunes like "Nowhere", I wish I had ear plugs. By far, it was the loudest Lucy show I ever went to. But, Saturday's show was quite different. Lucy on guitar and piano, and Mr. Duke Levine by her side on guitar, and mandolin. I've seen Billy Masters. I've seen Ben Butler. I've seen John Herrington. I've seen John Putnam. I believe Lucy should play with Mr. Levine as often as she can! Peppier numbers included (What's So Funny) 'Bout Peace, Love, & Understanding, which was a bluegrass speeding train. "Every Single Day" was somber, and mixed well with Lucy's new track "Land Of The Living" "Just You Tonight" just hit the right spot. When Lucy sang the line "I swear I'm listening now, the theater was silent. I'm still dying to hear Lucy play "Answer Me", and "Heart Needs A Home". Hopefully they will make it on to a future CD. Lucy must have spent another 2 hours after the show signing autographs, and chatting with fans. She is endearing, and by far my favorite performer. Kudos to folk wife Sharon, along with Graham & Becky, Benay, and the Blixt clan. Claire - where were you?????? ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 04 Feb 2002 09:59:13 -0500 From: Donna Myers Subject: [lucy-list] Berrie Center WOW!! What a show Lucy did at the Berrie Center. Lucy & Duke...it doesn't get any better. Sharon and Paul gave the reviews and I'll just add....MAGICAL!! Lucy continues to amaze me. "Land of the Living" was the highlight of the evening for me. Tears and chills were my immediate physical response. My emotional response was love and pride. What a song!! I get goosebumps just thinking about it. Sharon wrote, "More Than This" is on hiatus for now....Don't tell me this, it can't be!
