Subject: [lucy-list] Lucy in Lexington

Well I crashed the SOLD OUT Lucy Show in Lexington.  It wasn't easy...and I 
almost have a story about getting thrown out of a FOLK concert...at a Church, 
no less...but it was worth it.  You would NOT believe the security at a Lucy 
Kaplansky show these days.  My Gawd!  ; )    

Glad Sheila already gave the set lists for both Alice and Lucy.  I really 
enjoyed Alice Peacock. 

Sheila, did Lucy play for 3 hours?  Had to be at least 2 and half. 

What a treat to have Jennifer Kimball join her.  And Duke Levine...I'm pretty 
sure I'm in love with him.  
He is amazing.

BY FAR...the highlight of the night for me was the absolutely RAWKIN' version 
of Buddy Miller's "Hole in My Head"  w/Duke "Guitar God" Levine. Lucy needs 
to record that song...JUST as she sang it last night...with Duke.   LOVED IT! 
  This song goes down as one of my very favorite Lucy performances.

Another favorite was "Scorpion" - which she introduced as a song about "true 
love"...never heard her mention that before.  ( And all this time I thought i
t was about ME.  ; ) Birth Sign = Scorpio. )

Probably the best Lucy show I've attended. 

A special thank you to SharonG who pushed me to show up even though I didn't 
have tickets.  Despite having to wrestle the Church-lady security guard that 
wanted to drag me out of the venue by my ear (when she heard we didn't have 
tickets and were just waiting to see if there were any cancellations) it was 
a great night.  ; )

(and to be fair....the Church lady apologized to us for being cranky/stressed 
and actually escorted us to good seats when we did get tickets.)
