I think i'll probably go and see steve, thanks for the info... i like when he does acoustic stuff too. thanks for emailing me after the lucy shows to ask if i would like copies of the tapes - i certainly would and sorry i've been so long in replying, it was terribly rude of me. the address is - 20/G Woodlands Terrace Charing Cross Glasgow Thanks a lot, jenny* "donald.anderson" wrote: Hi Jenny - You've been a bit quiet lately ! - Hope you had a great Xmas & New Year From a review I read recently , of their show in The Barbican in London , the format is three voices and three acoustic guitars. The show got a great review with son Justin opening , followed by the wonderful Stacey and then after a break Steve came on for a 22 song set ! Maybe no rockin' guitars , but sounds like a great show Donald *You say you're looking for someone Who'll pick you up each time you fall, To gather flowers constantly An' to come each time you call, A lover for your life an' nothing more, But it ain't me, babe* -Bob Send FREE video emails in Yahoo! Tried getting some tickets to see Lucy in Lexington, MA tonight....and was told the show is SOLD OUT! I'm trying to look on the positive side and realize this is a good thing....for Lucy ...not for me. ; ) So if someone out there in Lucyland is lucky enough to go to this show.....please post and tell us all about it. Enviously yours, - -Denise C. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 Jan 2002 00:44:02 EST From: Fantine729@aol.com Subject: [lucy-list] Lucy @ Joyful Noise, Lexington, MA, 1/12/2002 I just got back from a wonderful, wonderful (sold out!) Lucy show. We had Alice Peacock opening, and then, joining Lucy for the evening, Duke Levine. Lucy also then announced that her "favorite singer and songwriter in the world" was also there that night, and that she would ask her to come out and join her for a bit. This was, of course (being Boston), JENNIFER KIMBALL, which, for me, is just as close as one can get to musical nirvana. There is NO ONE who harmonizes with Lucy like Jen, and I think I could even listen to the two of them yodel together! The highlight of the night was, by FAR, the encore of Guinevere, with Lucy and Duke, and Jennifer and Alice on first and second harmony vocals. The wall of sound and harmony just hit you like a brick, in a good way (though I feel like Alice is trying just a little too hard to out-sing Jennifer and Lucy sometimes....she just doesn't have the natural subtlety in her harmony yet that Jennifer does). Wow, wow, wow. Lucy's apparel included the brown leather pants, black T-shirt and black leather jacket. Set list: ~Alice~ Get Your Own Every Now & Then Parallel Life My Love I Will I'll Be the One Cracks & Daggers Imagination ~Lucy~ The Angels Rejoiced (w/ Duke) Back of His Hand (w/ Duke) End of the Day (w/Duke) Don't Mind Me (w/Duke) Broken Things (w/Duke and Jennifer) Ten-Year Night (w/Duke and Jennifer) Loch Lomond (solo) Mary and the Soldier (solo) One Good Reason (w/Duke) Guilty As Sin (w/Duke) By Way of Sorrow (w/Duke) (What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding (w/Duke) Land of the Living (solo) Dad's ABC song (solo) Nowhere (w/Duke) Hole in My Head (by Buddy Miller) (w/Duke.....OMG THEY ROCKED) Five in the Morning (w/Duke) Turn the Lights Back On (w/Duke....another rocker) Every Single Day (w/Duke, who had written the music, and Jennifer) Scorpion (w/Duke and Jennifer) Encores: Song for Molly (solo) Guinevere (w/ Duke, Jennifer and Alice) Peace, Sheila You can't see the future when it's all disguised as the past. ~ Nerissa Nields ------------------------------ End of lucy-list-digest V4 #11 ****************************** This has been a posting from the Lucy Kaplansky mail list digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe lucy-list-digest" in the body of the message
