I was wondering if anyone is planning on going to Folk Alliance in February and is looking for a roomate? I'm not picky on who i stay with and will even happily sleep on the floor for the 4 nights! I'd prefer to stay in Adam's Mark so that I can be close to the action :) Thanks! You guys have a real treat coming up Monday night at the Bottom Line, and again Wednesday night at Makor: NORAH JONES! Norah is going to be a star, as soon as her first full-length CD is released in February (or thereabout) on Blue Note. I've already put together my picks for the 'Best of 2001' (I don't expect it will change within the next month) and Norah's too-short EP, "First Sessions", is at #3 on my list, right behind Susan Werner and Lucy. I had the opportunity to catch Norah recently, singing with the Charlie Hunter Quartet. That was fun, and they all sounded fine, but they didn't even bring her out to sing 'till 12:35am, for a mere four or five songs. Also, the sound system was cranked WAY UP for Charlie Hunter, which did Norah NO justice. I left that gig really wishing for a cabaret setting, with the spotlight on Norah and her own band. That is exactly what you guys have coming up Monday and Wednesday in New York. Don't miss this chance to see her while tix are still relatively easy to get.
