I've voted for my top 3 of 2001 tonight , of which the Doc is in there ... but sorry folks , ... there's one album that has got to me that little bit more than ESD , but what is it ?? - hey , who cares I hear you say Who's going to volunteer to coordinate the lists best of for 2001 - well if you want , I will ! So how should we go about it ? My music friends & I vote for our favourite 20 albums of the current year , and rank a top 3 which are given 4 points for the no.1 album , 3 or second and ... yes you've guessed it 2 points for third , all others get a point each. What do you think - Can I spread the Scottish Music fan logic across the globe , or what ?? Let me know and let's see what we can work out Hey only 5 days until we see Dar , and another 11 & 12 days later we see the Doc - !!!!!!!!!! Take care all - Hope to meet the Glasgow contingent on Sunday night ? at Dar's show - Walter / Jenny / Iain / Ian / Lorna ?? It's ok we don't need a bed as I'm going to drive home after the show - ha ha Donald ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Nov 2001 09:09:54 -0500 From: Tom Neff Subject: [lucy-list] Re: best of 2001 This is undoubtedly a radical suggestion, but since 2001 is less than nine-tenths complete, it might make a 'best of' selection more meaningful if we waited until the year was actually in the can?? There are still albums coming out. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Nov 2001 11:56:43 EST From: RFELDHOUSE@aol.com Subject: Re: [lucy-list] Re: best of 2001 http://www.redhouserecords.com/Suzzy.ram ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 23 Nov 2001 08:04:58 +0100 (BST) From: jeremy.briggs@baesystems.com Subject: [lucy-list] Dar in Glasgow 25 Nov - Cross Post from UK Dar List Hi All As a taster for Lucy at the Renfrew Ferry in December, Dar Williams is playing there on Sunday 25 Nov. This is what has been worked out on the UK Dar List for meeting up beforehand if anyone on Lucy List Scotland has missed it and is interested. Jeremy ******************************************************* Hi Folks, As time is rather short, I think we'd best get things organised - am I right in thinking I'm the only Glasgow resident on the list who shall be turning up? It would be nice to have everyone's name before the event and a rough guess on numbers...I don't particularly want to be the ringleader of this, but given that the concert is at eight then a 6.30 pm meet-up at Crystal Palace would seem reasonable. Half an hour or so for drinkypoos then a wee saunter round to the Ferry so that we all get near the front and can stare Dar out. I shall be the one who's wearing (probably) a grey jacket with a horizontal stripe across it, and I'll be with my girlfriend. So there you go - a bloke and a lassie, shouldn't be that difficult to pick us out in a crowded pub, eh? Everyone know where Crystal Palace is? Good..well that's sorted then! :-) I know of Fran, Chris and Reinhardt (sp?) who are coming - so anyone else, now is the time to shout/scream/stamp your feet. Cheers, Andrew. *********************************************************** Crystal Palace sounds OK. I would expect Bert and I to go there for something to eat around 5:30 - 6:00 pm. I'm sure that we could muster up a Dar CD or two to place on the table for others to find. Details can be found at yell.com. Leave "What" blank, type Crystal Place into "Who", Glasgow into "Where", press Search and then go to the map/directions. See you there.
