There's this tea called Throat Coat, you get it at G.N.C. and we always keep a supply in the kitchen at Grassy Hill. It is unbelievable. Any green tea with honey and lemon will do. I'd avoid caffeine right before singing. - --On Thursday, November 01, 2001 10:40 AM -0500 "Elizabeth (Libby) Wiebel" wrote: > What's the remedy for the "oh my GAWD I have to sing in an hour > and my throat feels like SANDPAPER??"-condition? This is gross and will probably hurt but warm or hot salt water.... gurgle it, don't drink it. I had to do this before a big choir concert once (I had a teeny tiny solo). It was yucky but it cleared up my throat enough to be able to eek out my little solo and to sing decently with the other folks (of course I also tripped and fell on stage in front of everyone so I don't think that too many people will remeber my singing at that concert anyways :+) ) - --SLL "Elizabeth (Libby) Wiebel" wrote: What's the remedy for the "oh my GAWD I have to sing in an hour and my throat feels like SANDPAPER??"-condition? I've got 3 more to go in the next two days. What a time to come down with strep. Thanks for all the advice! I'll second that. I took the early (6:00 am) shift answering phone pledges for WETA radio in DC a couple of weeks ago. Good food, good coffee, and there are always interesting people there to meet. WETA has a great folk program on Saturday nights--Mary Cliff promotes every local folk appearance and plays recordings by just about everyone. WETA is a Washington, DC station, although its studio is over the river in Arlington, Virginia. On the way home I took a small detour to drive past the west side of the Pentagon. Seeing the large gap in the wall was not so pleasant. The Yankees just won again. How do they keep doing that?
