If you can make it to one of her shows please go along - you won't be disappointed Now then , what about the Doc , hoppin' the pond - any more details folks ?? I was a little late getting there (it was my sixth grade son's band's night to provide halftime entertainment at the high school football game), but I really enjoyed the show, and I think the eight or so freshmen liked it too. Claudia played a two-hour set with her husband on mandolin in the first half and Fender in the second half. The first half was more traditionally folk than the second. But a good show nonetheless. There's the "Mars Cheese Castle"... and the roadside cheese shops... and cheese curds... and cheese at every meal. The public schools are given a cheese allotment by the state (Wisconsin) each year... and the school lunch program has to use it up by the end of the year... or the next year they don't get as much. Kinda like government budgeting... so by the end of the year, everything that the school lunch lines serve has cheese on it... cheese here... cheese there... trying to use up all that cheese. I think that's where I learned to put cheddar cheese into pasta sauce. :) But I guess it's no wonder everyone in virginia wonders why i'm snobby about my cheese. You can get really good cheese just everywhere in Wisconsin... and here... well... it's hard to come by a block of "farmers cheese" or "jalapeno jack" or "garlic edam"... unless you look hard and pay premium. Just tonight... my roommates asked me about the cheese-making process... I think I've gotten a cheesy reputation. *grin* - -> so ... on to DOC in CT.. in a month or so... - -> Just got my ticket for Denver in the mail... yippee! And no.... I'm not going to the conference just because Lucy will be there that week. The conference came first... the concert is just a super added bonus! I will be in high heaven... Super-Computing 2001 by day... the Doc by night... :) Who could ask for more?? And... this will make it an official cross-country Lucy year. That's good by me! I now live in California and there is a big ad campaign going about our cheese. It even takes shots at Wisconsin. It's kind of funny.
