I, for one, appreciate it. (Of course, I'm guilty of writing the occasional travelogue about my Lucy road trips.) Maybe some day I'll put all of mine together and publish a volume called "Let's Go Lucy" or "Lonely Planet Guide to Lucy" or, better yet, "Lucy on $20 a Day" (Sharon's apartment would be in that one for sure!) The venue is on the small side (75-125?)with a combination of tables, church pews and some theater seats in the back. I'd get there early and claim some seats. The web site says the doors open at 8:00. I've never seen Lucy there, but many others. I'll be coming up from Cincinnati so I'm not sure what time I'll be there, since I haven't gotten confirmation that my wife is coming yet. There will be an opener, I think he is local. Has anyone seen Lucy at Canal Street? Just curious about the venue as I've never been there before. thanks, Steve ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 25 Sep 2001 14:00:37 -0400 From: Donna Myers Subject: [lucy-list] Reviews and ESD Thanks for the great reviews Renee and Libby! The Bottom Line show was just what I needed. The sweet sound of Lucy's voice and good friends all around. I arrived home at 4:00 am (my husband teased me-claiming I would only stay up that late for Lucy-he knows how much I love my sleep). It was well worth it!! Kristen, the book was fabulous. Rick and Lucy were thrilled!!! Thank you. Libby, could you do me a favor and ask Lucy if she will be selling ESD T-shirts? I forgot to ask her the other night. I still haven't decided on my favorite ESD song. They are all great. I usually can tell my favorite because it's the one song that stays in my mind all day and I'm singing it constantly. This cd is different. I catch myself singing all of them!! Someone mentioned that "No More Excuses" has a George Harrison feel to it. I agree totally!! There's one particular Harrison song I'm thinking of but can not remember it. RON G--are you listening-can you help me? And I'm wondering if it's more than a coincidence that Duke Levine was on the Mary Chapin Carpenter album "Time*Sex*Love" recorded in London where Sir George Martin made an appearance in the studio. Ryan's, last or first solo, album was excellent and even Elton John praised it highly on Parky show on Saturday night. Gold got 5 stars in Q magazine. I have a great live show where he tells a pretty bad joke so he tells the audience that he has decided to retire from performing seeing nobody found his joke funny. He is quite a character. Still no ESD yet, but there are lots of other new and old albums to listen to in the meantime. Anticipation is good for the heart. Keeps it active. I've got the four Richard Shindell albums to collect tomorrow which were carried all the way from the USA by a friend. I'm going to have a busy week:-).
