Whoohoo...i just went to my local Borders and asked if they had Lucy's cd yet and she said no but we're having a midnight sale tonight for it's release ....yippeeee!!! Ok perhaps the midnight sale has SOMETHING to do with the release of Bob Dylans new cd but i like to think of it as a Lucy midnight sale :) SO i have to keep my butt up till late and im usually in bed by 10:30 ...ugh!!! and then of course im going to have to listen to the whole thing so i wont sleep until 2-3 and i have to teach at 9:30...Oh well its Lucy!!! THE NEW Lucy kaplansky.. i tell him of the men lucy got to play .. and the men she got to sing.. and he says... "well they should.. they owe her.. she has sung with em all and sings with everyone.. they should be standing in line to sing with her" we talked of her remarkable songwrting and how unappreciated that seems to be.. well i told him.. wait til he hears... ESD now JOHN platt what am i getting up at 8 on a sunday when you have lucy on at 9am... yes .. lucy live.. talking talking talking... you can hear the DOC.. she sang and he played guilty as sin-played song for molly- sang more than this sang broken things.. he loved the cover dont mind me.. with buddy... played she mentioned her only scathing song.. on this cd.. is NO more excuses.. it the third in the triology.. how come no one..wants to comment on the discussion she and john had about mothers and becoming a mother.. lucy spoke about figuring out work and life and travelling and having a baby...that baby will be a new york kid... like math have musical talent.. coming out of its ears.. and have great hair.. lucy spoke of her grandmom having parkinsons.. and how the experience of having a grandparent in a nursing home is more common.. than she expected fans are responding to that and MORE than this... and the pop song.. It's almost 2 in the morning and i just got back from my "lucy trip". I picked up ESD at Borders Midnight release and drove the Kansas roads listening to it. I am beyond blown away.. Lucy you have completely outdone yourself. I dont think i have ever in my life had a reaction like this to a cd and considering music is the most important part of my life that is HUGE! I had to write everything i was feeling down in a letter to Lucy thanking her.Wow...my friends don't understand so i'm going to turn here with the hopes that someone else will feel the same or at least understand. Lucy has done amazing things in the past-hell anyone that can pull someone out of a deep depression just with music is amazing-but this...wow... I'm rambling and im sorry but im exhausted yet cant sleep. I have this knot in my throat that has been there since i heard the first note and it just wont go away...i cant even begin to describe how im feeling. This is the most beautiful thing in the world...Guilty as Sin- I know all too well and Broken Things and Nowhere couldnt have come at a better time in my life Ok i'm going to stop rambling now that i have everyone who reads this going "oh man what a nut" Goodnight :) KristenGet more from the Web.
