Lucy showing up to sing with Gorka at the WTC. I guess after that obnoxious heat wave you suffered, all you new yorkers deserved some "fresh sheets and ice water." ;-) I ahve seen these two together on a couple of occasions (KAte Wolf Fest and FRFF) and they are amazing. I wish they would do an extended tour together some time. Flying Red Horse is a real treat to hear live. I heard him do it this past March at the Freight and for some reason have been listening to it over and over again for the past couple of days. Sure wish I had been there. I haven't had a chance to check out the scripting on Netscape 6. Yeah!! This is coming along beautifully!! Thanks to everyone that has sent me stuff to put in the book and to everyone who has mailed a message. There is still time to send a message if you havent done so yet...either email me with your message or go to www.angelfire.com/folk/lucykaplansky/thelaunch.html and fill out the form. So as requested i'm trying to get this to Lucy before the 11th. I received an offer from someone to deliver the book at the show on the 7th in MA. To get it there in time i'm either going to have to mail it out Sat or Tuesday by priority mail and hope and pray it gets there in time. Unfortunately i forgot that Mon was a holiday. I suppose i could send it overnight mail to make sure it gets there in time (does anyone know how much that would cost?? Probably a small fortune..oh well its Lucy :) ) Unless anyone has any other suggestions?? But anyways...if you do still want to participate please email me!! There are some fabulous people in the book--not only lucy-listers but some of Lucy's singing friends KristenGet more from the Web. Price of a ticket is $40. Is that a record for a Lucy show? You should know that tickets at that venue for "big names" can hit $75 or more. After all, it's in the Hamptons. Wonder how the rich folks behaved at the show. Sounds like I missed a good show at the World Trade Center. I was there earlier in the day for a meeting, but unfortunately I had other commitments last night. Let's hope WFUV can put on more shows next year. Is that person on this list? I'll be at that show. It's a Lucy and Cliff Eberhardt show and being that they are my top two favorite performers I'm sure to be in heaven at this show! I assumed it wasn't written by someone who was particularly familiar with her songs because it referred to "One Good Reason" as "Best Things Disappear." Anyway, at least that was easy to figure out. What puzzled me was that it said she closed with Julie Miller's "Find You All These Years." I knew that couldn't be "Broken Things," and I was thinking, wait, is that some Julie Miller song I haven't heard that I don't KNOW Lucy sings? Horrors! How could I be that out of the loop? Fortunately, in the middle of writing this I had an epiphany and realized it had to be "By Way of Sorrow."---"But you'll reach your destiny...meant to find you all these years..."---OK, I got it, but that was a hard one. I guess the writer's rule must be, when in doubt about a song's title, assume it's the last line of the chorus. Funny how difficult that can make things for those who DO think of the songs by their actual titles! Anyway, even though I answered my own question, I figured I'd post this anyway in case it saves anybody else the 20 minutes of agonizing I went through! (OK, it should not have taken me even that long, but it's been a long day...)
