Ha. Yes, I did my treat. Very special, thank you. Does this come from the stash LK talks about? So shut the suitcase, kiss the year goodbye Don't let nobody stop you at the doorway And close the shutters on this empty room Where these crazy dreams come crawling to devour you And head on out across that line Where she's been waiting all this time And tell her that you want her there forever. It's still two hours till this plane gets down Can hardly bear to wait another minute Your sweet loving babe is all that I need Darling it's been building up inside of me Tonight we'll go and paint this town We're gonna drink champagne, till we both fall down And we'll find some other crazy dream tomorrow. So I fought off sleep just long enough to catch her performance. She played Simple Life from the new CD and much to my surprise, John Jennings WAS playing Bass. After reviewing the liner notes of the new CD, I see that John and Glenn Worf handle all the bass duties. There's no doubt that John can handle the duties, but it has to affect the live show. All the twin guitar interplay, not to mention the slide and Backpacker contributions. Can anyone who's seen a recent show comment on this?? Just curious, Pat ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 15 Jun 2001 01:02:43 EDT From: OzWoman321@aol.com Subject: [lucy-list] Lone Palm (Jimmy Buffett) Hello, All - After having driven to Tampa to see Cry Cry Cry two years ago and flown to New York for two Makor solo Lucy shows last summer (thanks, sharon!) followed by her various Falcon Ridge mainstage and workshop appearances, I will finally have the pleasure of seeing Ms. Kaplansky on my own side of the state! Lucy will be appearing in West Palm Beach on Saturday, June 16 and I have gathered a vanful of Road Buddies to make the one hour (piece of cake... :-) trek - I'm very much looking forward to some old favorites and the new songs I've enviously heard you all discussing... Any messages to pass on? - any baked goods to be delivered? (bearing in mind we'll be having dinner at The Cheesecake Factory across the street before the show... :-) Susan "I am not looking for no champion of my freedom, I am anything but anybody's foundling..." ~ Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 15 Jun 2001 01:17:45 EDT From: IFBUCHAN@aol.com Subject: Re: [lucy-list] Something about Mary on Letterman (No Lucy) John Jennings is such a virtuoso musician he can play several instruments. I was surprised to see him on bass in Glasgow as well but he has such a command of that as well it was interesting to hear him. Duke Levine is no slouch on guitar neither was the other guy, whose name escapes me. This change of format does not have any marked difference on the outcome and only strengthens ones admiration for JJ. What a guy. He always looks so relaxed and cool.
