Ian Jenny & I did meet, wondered where you had gone! I agree, I thought Shawn greatly outshone Mary chapin. I too was at that Arches gig in 1997, and hated it, because we had to stand for 3 hours. I thought Shawn was awesome, and what a wonderful guitarist she is, I hadn't realised. Next time we will make sure we meet, Take care Walter - ----- Original Message ----- From: "donald.anderson" To: Cc: Sent: Thursday, May 31, 2001 10:58 AM Subject: [lucy-list] Shawn Colvin - Glasgow - 30th May 2001 > Sorry I know I'm crossing lists here but frankly I've had more communication > going about Shawn with my Lucy Listers than Shawns ! > > This was Shawns first time in Scotland since June of 1997 when she played to a > packed crowd of about 500 in a club in Glasgow called The Arches . You are quite right it does sound a bit like the Jim'll Fix it tune with a hint of Beach Baby thrown in. I knew it sounded familiar when I first heard it and Beach baby was the first shout but I think you have hit the nail on the head. How sad are we? I'm going to sit on the fence and agree with both Walter and Jenny, I loved both Shawn and Mary, especially together. On a more serious note what do you call the style that Jimmy Saville fixes his hair?:-) Ian ------------------------------ End of lucy-list-digest V3 #118 ******************************* This has been a posting from the Lucy Kaplansky mail list digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe lucy-list-digest" in the body of the message
