Let's see... Lucy opened for Gorka at The Birchmere last fall and told this story. I may be mixing up several stories, but I think the answer has something to do with Lucy, Gorka, and Shawn Colvin harmonizing in a ladies room at Folk City and may coincide with a Fast Folk recording. The "Fast Folk Musical Magazine" started in 1982, so I'm guessing 1982. Ha, great! I left NYC (to start graduate work in mathematics) in 1975 else, who knows, I might have been there. (Though probably not right in that ladies room.) Does anyone know whether my recollection about Folk City and Fast Folk was also right? I'll let someone else answer today's question. Btw, I actually met the senior Dr. Kaplansky about a year and a half ago. My girlfriend and I used Southwest Airlines frequent flier coupons to spend a weekend in the Bay Area, which we scheduled to coincide with a Lucy concert at Freight and Salvage in Berkeley. There was a big crowd at Freight and Salvage so we waited on line for quite a while. Lucy found it amusing that her parents also waited on line instead of just going to the door when they arrived for the show. ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 26 May 2001 22:06:44 +0100 From: "Iain Geddes" Subject: Re: [lucy-list] there she was again...
