As you walk up the steps towards the auditorioum it is the bar on the right, the one that is square shaped, on the same side where they normally have the Concession Stand. I know Ian and I will recognise each other, and Jenny, you can have your pizza with your mum, and we can still buy you an orange juice! So any Lister who picks this up and is attending, join us and say hello, please. The program aired an audio birthday card to Bob Dylan based on the Red House "A Nod to Bob" CD. "It Ain't Me Babe" once again hit me like a ton of bricks. Lucy -- please, please, please add this song to your playlist this summer! - -- Jay Votel (jvotel@megapipe.net) "I was a young reporter on the street, and I believe that a young newspaper reporter in a big city led a life that has never been matched on earth, for romance and interest." -- H.L. I talked to her between shows, she had a morning gig, there was just no way. But I thought Alice's voice was a nice blend with John's, not as distinctive as "the DOC.." :) but well matched. To be honest I would rather that John had somebody on the road with him singing backup consistently night after night, than just to rely on occasional same-city luck with peers like Lucy, Patty, Jenn et al. But they sure do sound great when it happens!! ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 26 May 2001 02:28:00 EDT From: IFBUCHAN@aol.com Subject: Re: [lucy-list] Mary Chapin Carpenter Glasgow 30th May I'll see you there Walter and Jenny. We know who we are so just in case anyone else wants to say hello I will be wearing a Scotland cricket shirt which is blue with a large white cross emblazoned on the front (looks like a Saltire). For anyone interested I went to see Stacey Earle with husband Mark Stuart and Steve Forbert on Wednesday night. I had not seen either of them before but was not disappointed. Stacey was superb and came across really well. What a smiley girl she is. She seemed so happy, but sadly a few assholes talked virtually throughout her whole set and she said at the end "I'd like to thank most of you for listening to my songs" She got a huge applause for at least acknowledging that she would not be put off. She did a few new songs as well a songs from her two cds . Little Stevie Orbit was brilliant he reminded me of Neil Young the way he dressed and looked so awkward on stage. He has a vast catalogue of great songs and certainly had the Renfrew Ferry buzzing. A really good night.
