One of the world's greatest guitarists, Gordon Giltrap, is coming to the US
for his first mini-tour of the Northeast. If you are in NYC, you can catch
his show at the Cornelia Street Cafe (between Bleeker and W. 4th). He's a
spectacular musician, and a terrific story teller (he sounds just like
Michael Caine). For anyone who saw his single show at the Blixt's Cabin
Concerts last year can tell you he's amazing.
The following was our email announcement:
The 1st American Tour and only
NYC appearance.....

Sir Cliff Richard, Brian May, Rick Wakeman, Midge Ure, Martin Taylor, Bert
Jansch, John Renbourn, John Entwistle, Steve Howe, Tony Iommi, Juan Martin,
Simon Phillips, and James Taylor. What have all these illustrious artists in
common? They have all at onetime or another worked or collaborated with a man
who is regarded by many to be one of the great acoustic guitarists of the
modern age, Gordon Giltrap.
One of Gordon's most popular pieces, 'HEARTSONG,' received massive airplay
and reached the top twenty of the UK singles charts.
It was also used, for seven years, by BBC television
as the theme tune to their popular 'Holiday Programme' and
was nominated for an lvor Novello Award under the category of
Best Instrumental or Popular Orchestral Work.

Hello you all, I did not save earlier notes about Doc's new CD.
Will somebody share as much as they want to about it that they know with me.
I went to the website and it does not have much new stuff.
Appreciate it!

Remember that lucy-list is archived (and searchable) in its entirety at
http://grassyhill.org/stax/lucy-list
so even if you missed something or just joined or took a vacation, nothing
is lost for good. :) This link does not appear on the website itself,
although I think it is mentioned in the Welcome message for lucy-list when
you join.

song seemed to incorporate some details of Julie's >life, too -- especially
the image of the young unhappy girl wandering around the alienating city.
Again, this was stronger >lyrically than I have heard from Lucy in a long

'can we go up to where the wind howls and stand against the trees
they've grown up so tall that you can't see the house
it's a fortress now but you know how it used to be' ~ sarah harmer
ps- i saw sarah at king tut's on saturday night - wow - i hadn't been to
king tut's before and was totally shocked... i was expecting some small dark
bar with some nice tables and half-empty. turned out to be a pumpin little
club with no seats and a stage at the same level as the floor. how're they
gonna sort that out for suzanne vega then?

More Than This
(Ferry)
I could feel at the time
There was no way of knowing
Fallen leaves in the night
Who can say where they4re blowing
As free as the wind
And hopefully learning
Why the sea on the tide
Has no way of turning
More than this - there is nothing
More than this - tell me one thing
More than this - there is nothing
It was fun for a while
There was no way of knowing
Like dream in the night
Who can say where we4re going
No care in the world
Maybe I4m learning
Why the sea on the tide
Has no way of turning
More than this - there is nothing
More than this - tell me one thing
More than this - there is nothing
