It's 8/17-19 in Lyons CO. (see http://www.bluegrass.org) I guess Kauai in July will have to suffice but there won't be that kind of music there . susan in oakland ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 May 2001 20:37:39 +0100 From: "donald.anderson" Subject: Re: [lucy-list] a nod to bob I got my "Nod To Bob!" yesterday and it is very good indeed - Lucy's contribution is , of course , outstanding I promise to bore you all with an in depth review of Colvin & Chapin's Glasgow show on May 30th Donald - ----- Original Message ----- From: To: Sent: Saturday, May 12, 2001 3:29 AM Subject: Re: [lucy-list] a nod to bob > shawn is with marychapin .. i believe .. i have the new cds for both > you all are in for a treat... and the nod to bob is outstanding... you will > love > lucys "it aint me.babe... > let me know where.. and how and more.. i want the details... > > sharon > > all this time i been making deals > shades of black and white > on a hollywood reel > all this time ive been missing > something so real > all this time, i ve been a face in the crowd > now im living in color and laughin out loud > all these names > for us fooling around > it a new breakthrough.. its a new breakdown... > > round of blues.. > shawn colvin.. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 13 May 2001 20:47:00 +0100 From: "donald.anderson" Subject: Re: [lucy-list] what i have to go through before shawn and chapin Walter , Can I suggest that you check out Guy Davis who is appearing at the festival this year - I've seen him twice before and can thoroughly recommend him to you - knowing that you and I appear to have "similair" taste - Lucy / Colvin / Chapin / Suzie Ungerleider - Guy Davis's music is firmly based in the blues but he writes a lot of his own stuff and therfore also slots loosley into the singer./songwriter category. You won't be disappointed - However I've dumped my promotional mailshot and have a horrible feeling that maybe he's on the same night as Chapin & Colvin . I'm going to see him on may 31st in The Lemon Tree in Aberdeen Maybe we can meet before the show on May 30 th to say hello ? I shall try to make it to the Canadian Country night. Ian will like Tandy coz he's a CCR/Byrds fan and I like Blue Rodeo, they're pretty big in Canada, oh and the Guthries come from Nova Scotia so I'd like them whatever, Ian would explain!! :-) Iain (2i's), Edinburgh - ----- Original Message ----- From: Walter from Glasgow To: Sent: 12 May 2001 22:32 Subject: Re: [lucy-list] what i have to go through before shawn and chapin > Jenny, see you at Mary Chapin? > We are in one of the terraces, by the stalls. > Mary Chapin's new album is released in the UK on Monday 14th. > Let me know Joy & Walter > Jenny Ian & Iain, I can't see anything which grabs my fancy in the Big, Big, > Country festival. Aw thanks ma, but what you mean is - when she drives her scooter headlong into the ditch by the side of those country roads. > do you have love in your heart???? no, just murder plans for the assholes that think there is any point studying shakespeare anymore... i mean the guy is DEAD, it's time to get over him. Sharon - i might just have to get my stalker pen out if you have all those lucy shows coming up ; ) > Jenny, see you at Mary Chapin? > We are in one of the terraces, by the stalls. I'm going with my maw and we have terrible seats, which is entirely her fault since she decided not to order tickets until she had spoken to her concert organiser friend-type dude about the event, and then chickened out of asking him for seats because she felt it was innapropriate. Then we phoned for tickets and now we're stuck up the back of the balcony or something. SO we probably won't bump into you... > Mary Chapin's new album is released in the UK on Monday 14th. Wow. Cool. i thought it wasn't out till june for some reason. jenny* ------------------------------ End of lucy-list-digest V3 #100 ******************************* This has been a posting from the Lucy Kaplansky mail list digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe lucy-list-digest" in the body of the message
