It would be on her new album. I just cant remember the title. She did 2 sets and I think since she sd it was her last show before goin home she did probably the best show I have seen her do. This was my 4th. If anyone knows the song she is recording of Steve Earle's thats on the new album you'll have the title. ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 19 Feb 2001 09:04:29 EST From: Wa2suh@aol.com Subject: [lucy-list] Eric Andersen I had a chance to see Eric Andersen yesterday, who did a benefit concert with Paul Stookey in Lawrence, L.I. Great show. After the show, from the various CD's on display, I picked out Eric's CD, Memory of the Future (a really fine CD), and had him sign it. I mentioned that the last time I saw him was at at Lucy's July 1999 show at Fez in NYC, during which Eric was called out as a special guest and sang Thirsty Boots, with Lucy singing harmony. Eric's eyes lit up as he remembered that night. He told me I should pick up his latest CD You Can't Relive the Past (2000), on which Lucy sings on 3 songs. Anyone have that CD, and what do you think? I do know that Memory of the Future (1999) is really enjoyable, and that's just after one listen. She plays most years at the cambridge folk festival; mixtures of traji ballad stuff, y'know, ye olde englishe stuff and some newer stuff like iris dement's 'our town'. she's a really great performer and always puts on a great show. she has a mad sense of humour. in her shows she goes between guitar and vocals and keyboard and vocals and once at the festival she came onstage, played a few songs with guitar and said, 'nowh, i'm wearin me pretty whaite skirt seein as ow am in the south an all, but i forgot i'd be havin to play me keyboard, so don be lookin oop me skeirt when ah sit dahn, owkay?' Like my accent or what? I think she's won a few prizes as well, like the mercury prize or something. her album sleepless is apparently really good. i'm sure other people will be able to tell you more jenny* ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 19 Feb 2001 19:47:39 -0000 From: "jenny" Subject: Re: [lucy-list] charlotte show the song, 'You're still standin there'?? it goes, 'and the world keeps turnin round and round and leaves me hanging in the air, my heart keeps turning upside down and you're still standin there?' jenny* > Charlotte show was great, I know she did a Steve Earl song, she sd. Dave, I just responded to that message. It was from the list owner which is Lucy so I sent it to: lucy-kaplansky-announce-owner@yahoogroups.com I figured someone is reading those posts and if it isn't Lucy herself--it must be someone who passes the emails on to her.
