Hi all! I'm new here. Am a fan of folk music, but had not had a chance to hear Lucy yet. Until Sunday night, that is. I had heard many wonderful things about her and her music and they were all true. It was a great night, esp. being my birthday. I had been waiting for that concert for months. Anyway, she was in great form and it was a packed house. Jessica - yes, I LOVE Launchcast. I have some problems with it sometimes (not launching or locking up) but other than that, it's awesome. I have had it for about a year. Tennessee sounds lovely right about now but I got a big Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday already planned. Had a Lucy dream last night in which, amoung other things, she rode a motorcycle right up to the stage for a festival gig but she was her usual sweet self. Maybe that's what the cover of the CD is gonna have: Lucy in her trademark black leather jacket on a bike (...sorta like that Janis Joplin Greatest Hits album) http://www.cdnow.com/cgi-bin/mserver/SID=1250076358/pagename=/RP/CDN/FIND/al bum.html/ArtistID=JOPLIN*JANIS/ITEMID=788564 Then again, maybe we'll have to save that image in the event that she goes "electric" like Dylan..... Are you sure you hadn't just been watching The Undertaker on WWF? :-) Dave. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 14 Feb 2001 15:12:40 -0600 From: "Timothy Bruce" Subject: [lucy-list] Worldly Women Folk Dave, What's the "WWF"? Worldly Women Folk? And do they ride motorcycles? Cool! Don't ask me why that link didn't get you to "the ride" page at CDnow. But it is pretty amusing picturing Lucy in Janis' place so I am re-linking to it. (It'd have to be the Falcon Ridge mainstage in the background, though, instead of that ugly brown lawn.) http://www.cdnow.com/cgi-bin/mserver/SID=1349704644/pagename=/RP/CDN/FIND/al bum.html/ArtistID=JOPLIN*JANIS/ITEMID=788564 ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 14 Feb 2001 16:09:22 EST From: Sdgold60@aol.com Subject: Re: [lucy-list] Lucy a biker? timothy.. do we need to go anywhere near your dreams.. of the DOC that involve motorcyles or other heavy equiptment.. keep em to yourself.. though i think the biker chick motif.. would work with burning gravity... sharon ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 14 Feb 2001 17:07:04 -0600 From: "Timothy Bruce" Subject: [lucy-list] Lucy the heavy equipment operator... Oh boy! Stop it Sharon! You're giving me NEW ideas for tonights slew of dreams as well as images for possible CD covers. How's this? Lucy wearing a yellow hardhat and driving a ten-ton bulldozer or front-end loader over the BMW or Lexus of whatever slimeball inspired her "angry woman" trilogy. The plates on the heavy equipment would read "NOMOREX". I have a friend who saw Lucy years ago and commented to me that Lucy didn't seem "angry" enough. Well THIS could change her mind! As for the link.....apparently it was too long to fit on a single line in the digest and so it was split into two pieces. Only the top piece remained a live link. You'd need to put the two pieces back together to get the page... That's enough outta me for a long while! I'll think twice next time about sharing my nocturnal emissions with the list... Happy Valentine's Day Sharon and all the other listers, lurkers included! And happy belated birthday Sherri!
