It was my first Lucy show and she sounded great! She talked a lot about her mom and told us about her experience being in the movie, playing a singer who's singing a sad song on the street. She asked our opinions about a new album title and said she was thinking about "New Red Shoes." Someone suggested "Guilty as Sin" but Lucy didn't want to introduce herself to the world with that title. :) I didn't write down a set list but it was pretty much the same as has been posted on the list. She sang "Guinevere" as the encore. She also wanted to sing an "Alabama" song but didn't want to sing the obvious one("Sweet Home Alabama") so she decided to sing Emmylou Harris' "Boulder to Birmingham." All in all, it was a great show. The reviewer in the newspaper was very complimentary, saying that "Kaplansky is such an intense and caring performer, she can't help but soothe the soul." :) - -Madeline _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 11 Feb 2001 13:42:28 EST From: Asdalin@aol.com Subject: [lucy-list] Re: Lisa McC Lucky you. I am still waiting for Lisa McCormick to play near me. I have both her albums and they remain on my frequently played list. ------------------------------ End of lucy-list-digest V3 #35 ****************************** This has been a posting from the Lucy Kaplansky mail list digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe lucy-list-digest" in the body of the message
