Also re: backing vocalists on her next album...Gorka, Gorka and if he is available perhaps, Gorka. I also want to mention Gorka. I bought Ten Year Nigh and After Yesterday at the same time and really loved that they were on each other's albums. Then I saw them both for the first time at The Kate Wolf Festival and each sat in with other during their respective sets. The first time I saw each of them without the other, something seemed to be missing. They go together like peanut butter and jelly. So if you ask me who should do backing vocals on the new album, I would have to say John Gorka. As for a title, I don't know, how about, "I Won't Be Your Linda Eastman." Peter PS. It would also be great if Dar and Richard sat in on one number, but I won't hold my breath waiting for that to happen. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 28 Jan 2001 22:56:18 EST From: Steeleye77@cs.com Subject: Re: [lucy-list] the towne crier.... Sharon: You forgot to mention Lucy's encore" Ballad of Mary Magdalene". It's the first time I heard her sing it. I'll have to tell Richard that she sang "HIS" song when I see him on Thursday. Also, I enjoyed her flubbing the beginning of "End of the Day", but like the trooper she is, it was a great show. After previous failed attempt or two, I finally got to see a full-fledged Lucy show (in fact, that was my car that was wrecked on Route 42 North in Oct. 1998, on my way to see Lucy and Jennifer Kimball at the Tin Angel...hope I didn't make anyone late for the show...no scratches on me, but enough to make up for that on the car!..But no Lucy show for me that night.) I'm a relative newcomer to Lucy's music, so except for the Cry3 and "Ten Year Night" songs, they are all new ones to me, including actual new ones. In my mind's ear, I heard almost a Phil Spector-ish Wall of Sound quality to a couple of them. I think the one "No Excuses" (?), I could even imagine Ronnie Spector singing. And I was glad to meet up with fans before, during and after! A great time! I wish the fans were a bit more lively, but I think we're so unused to having real, live quality performers, we remain too sedate. Oh, well. Take care, Deb Yahoo!
