Rather than calling her a bluegrass artist, I prefer to think of her as a great singer-songwriter who happens to ply her trade in the bluegrass genre. She writes about relationships, social issues and all kinds of great stuff. I happened across her a few years ago at the Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival in Woodstown, NJ, and was blown away. Great music, great lyrics, great playing! Her following is much greater out West than here on the East Coast, but I try to catch her every time she's around Philadelphia. I envy those who get to see her often. And I was glad to hear her on Prairie Home Companion a couple weeks ago. Yay! Anyone who is interested in joining my group, feel free to head to: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LaurieLewisFans Thanks! Deb Yahoo! The Night Eagle is a -wonderful- place to hear and see musicians...it's well worth the trip. Their phone number is 607-843-7378...I'm not sure if she's sold out or not. In case anyone makes it, I'll be the one with dark red curly hair! Lokking forward to tomoorow! Maybe some people are just jealous. She definitely has seen many more artists than I have. I can only make so many shows a year due to babysitting constraints and I always save them for Lucy. So I guess I'm worse than Sharon because I only see Lucy and whoever happens to be opening or sharing the stage. I love my life!
