In fact, rather than just the general Shatner-on-SNL advice of "get a life," :) I would constructively suggest doing what the sold-out favorite-artist-and-person would probably want us to do under the circumstances, which is take the opportunity to go hear somebody ELSE, someone new that you've never heard before. There are hard working and talented singer-songwriters out there putting on showcases, writer's circles, etc, practically every week in the city and environs, and dozens of interesting gigs every month when you look in Musi-Cal ( http://musi-cal.com ). I hate to say it but it's not healthy to run around after the same half-dozen performers all the time. Much better to mix it up and surprise yourself. Sure, sometimes you discover a "dud," but sometimes you're amazed, and the chances that when someone breaks out two years later you can say "oh yeah I heard them years ago at the Bitter End" goes way up. :) ------------------------------ End of lucy-list-digest V3 #17 ****************************** This has been a posting from the Lucy Kaplansky mail list digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe lucy-list-digest" in the body of the message
