Happy Holidays all!
If anyone gets the Metro Channels in the NY Tri-State area, look for an hour 
special called "Downtown Messiah." It is a holiday show performed at the 
BottomLine and is amazing. It is made up of terrific performers like Susan 
Werner, The Kennedy's, David Johannsen, aka Buster Pointdexter, Suzzy Roche 
and others performing different pieces by Handel. Vin Scelsa lends his voice 
for the narrative.
It was on last night and is being repeated throughout the holiday season. The 
first half is full of interviews, rehearsals and interesting background 
tidbits. The second half hour is highlights of the live performance ending 
with a rousing rendition of Handel's Messiah. 
Check it out. I loved it.

if you saw susan werner it was last years messiah
she did not appear in this years production
vernon reid of living color and gordon chambers did 
every valley
this year two of three roches appeared sans suzzy
and jane siberry did two numbers
the kennedys were paul and art
id rather call em peet and repeet...

it was groovy and hip and you had to wear black and there were
lots of berets... 

and last night at cliff and greg trooper
i think elliott simon was there.. sitting in front of me..
