I bought standing tickets expecting to get sore feet, and ended up with a sore bum! Highlight of the evening for me was my mate Jimbo getting his request of 'By Way of Sorrow'; it's one of the songs he's having played at his wedding next year. I also loved hearing all the new stuff; can't wait for a new album! Y'know, since one of Lucy's fave bassists has moved here, and she gets to sing with 'Mr.' Ferry, d'ya reckon she might be tempted to relocate to the UK? (Not that I'm trying to wind up the American list members :-) Dave & Kay: thanks for doing the write up that us lazy people did'nt. And Congrats again - same time next year? :-) Bryan (Brian?): Hope you got home OK. We missed our last Central line train and had to get the nightbus though! Jon NP: 'Ribbed' by NOFX, including their hilarious punk verion of Fleetwood Mac's 'Go Yor Own Way'. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Get more from the Web. Tonight (Tuesday) she is in Worcester at Huntingdon Hall, a beautiful chapel originally built in 1804 -see a pic at http://www.styleindex.co.uk/netservice/huntingdonhall and on Wednesday she's at the Sheffield City Hall - I seem to remember that she said that she started writing 'To Be Nowhere' (?) watching the rain from a hotel room in Sheffield on a previous tour - we've got plenty of inspirational rain for her this time too!! I too loved the Jazz Cafe gig - especially 'Mary & The Soldier' and the other Paul Brady cover, 'Crazy Dreams' - - and 'Just You Tonight' on the piano was a real treat. I managed to take a few pictures - unfortunately the stage lighting wasn't too good - but if anyone would like to see a couple I'd be happy to e-mail them. And, sharon, I requested 'The Sea is Full of Sheep' for her encore - she just said "Who asked for that?" I cracked and said, "OK, how about 'Broken Things'" and someone shouted "'Edges', please!! and she said "God, I can't remember that" and said she would play a song by one of her favourite songwriters, Julie Miller - 'By Way of Sorrow' - I love that too so I was happy! After the gig I said hello from you and her eyes lit up saying "sharon is just such a lovely lovely person". Very best Paul ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 12 Dec 2000 17:35:02 -0000 From: "jenny" Subject: [lucy-list] Soon..
