I love "I Wish it Would Rain" by Nanci Griffith. Do you know if Lucy sang back-up vocals on the cd to that song? Have you ever heard Lucy sing other Nanci songs. On a previous message you mentioned that Lucy will be at the Bottom Line at the end of Nov. Have any idea what date? Thanks again for the review. Upon being prodded by a certain g, I'm sharing my Lucy-shock for the year. I work at the certain southern chain that ms g mentioned. Of course that is Cracker Barrel. I wait tables and a good percentage of the time, I don't pay attention to the music that is on because it's either too loud or I don't want to hear some of the pop country that so often is played. One day a week or so ago, business had died down and I was clearing a table and what did I hear through the speakers but "Turn the Lights Back On". I literally almost fell over a chair. My first thought was that the apocalypse had occurred. I stayed at the table for the duration of the song and then proceeded to return to the kitchen jabbering about it. My coworkers, shockingly enough (!), didn't get it. I guess I expected too much from them. They are Crackheads, ya know. Yes, I know, short story long, but I wanted to know if anyone else had heard Lucy in places they hadn't expected. I do have to say that I wonder why they chose that one but maybe because it's fairly upbeat. They do play Chapin's "He thinks he'll keep her" quite a bit too". I guess I just figured they'd stay with the positive, family atmosphere, but who really listens to the music anyway?!? Oh, that would be me.. ..Nicole ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 4 Sep 2000 00:30:14 EDT From: FISH1994@aol.com Subject: Re: [lucy-list] who you callin' cracker?!?
