WFUV(90.7) just announced they have two pairs of tickets available for Dar's Tuesday night show for members. They will give them to the first people that call. I am a member and would have gladly called but I already have tickets for the Wed. show, plus I plan to hopefully get tickets from them for Richard Shindell in September and they have a policy about members winning tickets within a given period of time(I think you can't get free tickets more than once within a 30 day time span, or something to that effect). So, to all of you WFUV members, get on that phone!! Good luck to you all. I'll see some of you at the show in Wed.!!! They're asking for suggestions as to what Lucy could contribute, so I thought I'd share! marketing@redhouserecords.com writes: << If you have a favorite Greg Brown song that you think would be a great one for Lucy Kaplansky to contribute to the project please let me know. First off, Cosy Sheridan opened, which is always a blast.I love her stories. You can almost see her whizzing across the desert while rummaging under the passenger seat for more tasty, stale morsels. She was accompanied by "T.R." her bassist. He didn't say much. Lucy came on and after a brief struggle to get the fan pointed in the right direction, was off on a huge set. I wish I'd written in all down. She started out with tree very angry songs, and I thought she would pulverize her guitar. Maybe it was the caffeine. She confided to us that she'd just downed an espresso, after kicking the habit... Then, the version of 'For Once In Your Life' moved many to tears. I hadn't realized it was written for her mom. We got an update on her Dad, doing well, hoping to get email at kap@msri.org That's Doctor Kaplansky to you. She sang us the Pi Song., and did a couple of Cry3 numbers. The best part was we'd brought a couple from work and totally converted them to the Folk Side. Okay, okay, they already like Dar, but hey, I'm just doing my part. See you all later. - -Eric ------------------------------ End of lucy-list-digest V2 #208 ******************************* This has been a posting from the Lucy Kaplansky mail list digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe lucy-list-digest" in the body of the message
