Listening to it later last night I was pleased to hear Mike Harding's following introduction:- "Now, Lucy Kaplansky, who just did a successful tour over here, has released a single from her last album, 'Ten Year Night', which, I'm 'delighted' [stressed] to hear is on the BBC Radio 2 Playlist. I think she's planning to come back over here later this year for a tour, and we'll give you details when we have them. Meanwhile, this is the lass herself with 'End of the Day'" Snare 'thwack' intro - play that 'gittar' - here come Lucy "I used to hear him sing in a Bleecker Street bar On a tiny stage on a borrowed guitar etc etc" This sounds so good on the radio. Good choice for a single. With Harding AND Terry Wogan behind her, you can pack your bags now for The Albert Hall. (I'd prefer The Festival Hall, myself. The River Thames is still amazing to me at night and it's easier to park. Mind you, I'd settle for the corner table in the nook upstairs at the 12 Bar, but we wouldn't all get in there! Paul Going to the West End on Monday. I was hoping to pick up a copy of the single up for sharon (if someone else hasn't already?) but would be happy to try for a few more. Could somebody get Lucy's mum over here quickly - the CD racks need tidying!!! ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 04 May 2000 19:17:50 PDT From: "sharon g" Subject: [lucy-list] tantrums for neil young and singles and radio i was not near my radio today and if I was i am sure the news of the loss of cardinal oconnor would have filled the airwaves.. but I did see something intriguing..a 55 year man had a huge tantrum last week because he could not get a copy of the new neil young cd... the store had them and could not put them out though they were on sale.. i have never seen a grown man tantrum like this... stomping cursing... thanks paul for the single offer we definately dont have one here and i may have to come over to the 12 roadhouse bar to see for myself... can someone check on the natalie merchant singles on WONDER european she is supposed to have a cover of ALL I WANT- joni mitchell she 's gone folk for this tour... aint it something when lucy come from the radio.... amazing sharonG ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 4 May 2000 22:41:55 EDT From: Donoss53@aol.com Subject: Re: [lucy-list] tantrums for neil young and singles and radio ------------------------------ End of lucy-list-digest V2 #115 ******************************* This has been a posting from the Lucy Kaplansky mail list digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe lucy-list-digest" in the body of the message
