We were sitting around having a Guinness with Lucy after her gig in Glasgow in December. And this guy comes up to say hello. Well obviously he didn't have a Scottish accent so Lucy was curious. Carl was totally unassuming so it wasn't until we got to talking about where Lucy's husband was working that it transpired who we were talking to. It was funny because I think Lucy's jaw dropped at the same time as mine. I was in awe as I think Lucy was, just hearing him name his previous projects ie, "the Jerk" with Steve Martin, his connection with "Jaws" &c. Ian and Jenny were there to. Jenny decided she wanted him to be her adopted Granddad. He was a really cool guy and probably rounded off a magical evening for all of us, Lucy included. I got my ticket signed by them both so I'll attach a copy of it. At one point during the show, lucy siad something like, 'there's no one from new york here, right?' after telling some story and from the bottom of the bar there was this 'YEEEAHH!!!' in a scottish accent and a bunch of people were pointing at this big fat guy. >Jenny decided she wanted him to be her adopted Granddad.
