Here are the five that I have been playing when Lucy is resting: 1.Nanci Griffith..."The Dust Bowl Symphony" (Almost any CD of her's would work for me) 2. Becky Schlegel..."True Blue" (Bluegrass...a nice surprise from the Lucy List) 3.Shelby Lynne..."I'm Shelby Lynne" (A really good one..also a Lucy List pick) 4.Lucinda Williams..."Sweet Old World" (I've listened to this one so much, I'm addicted) 5. Allison Krauss..."Forget About it" (Saw her in concert a month ago and she sings so quitely that you have to listen to her CD to feel like you're getting enough of her) wbe ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 19 Apr 2000 15:40:09 PDT From: "sharon g" Subject: [lucy-list] she's got a ticket to camp well guess what graced my mailbox today...#89 the 89th FAlcon Ridge ticket 3 days with camping and then there is the three months of my whining about the HANIDHouses... speakin of handihouses and port o johns, Aimee gave me the okay to preview the CW/LK show from the cheryl list.. Cheryl started with a serendipitous story of leaving the car dealership after purchasing her new car a few weeks ago - she hit the radio's seek button and it stopped on a folk station - at the tail end of a Christine Lavin song... the next song the station played was Driving Home - which Cheryl started her show with (big surprise, eh?) then she played the usual stuff (in no particular order)- Sylvia Hotel/Arrow/Further and Further Away/If It Were Up To Me/Unworthy/Paula Jones/Mosquito (my favorite... NOT)/Floyd/Rainy Road into Atlanta/ and she dusted off Meow - meow - meow/ I Must Have Done Something Right - along with its counter version - I Must Have Done Something Bad/ PoTaTo/Handy House/ and as encores Estate Sale (as a sing along) and Howl At The Moon (as a sing along with harmonies...ooooh). We're really looking forward to the shows at the Bottom Line Especially since Cheryl will be playing with Lucy Kaplansky and DUKE LEVINE !!! (we're hoping that the Handy House dancers will grace the stage at the Bottom Line) i wrote about the Handihouse dancers there is this little folk artist JIG that happens when there are folkies and hte HANDIHOUSE, i myself saw cliff eberhardt, christine lavin and liv taylor do it in New Bedford Sorry DOC is too hip, too NY too village too west side to do the jig to handihouse... you cant JIG dressed in black... sharonG ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 19 Apr 2000 21:49:24 EDT From: Tricia9999@aol.com Subject: Re: [lucy-list] what has you spinning I highly recommend Diane Zeigler!!
