April, 2000 A Lucy Lister in the Midwest is disappointed that recent advancements in the cloning of large mammals are not coming rapidly enough to make it possible for him to attend two folk festivals at the same time this summer. To make it even more painful for him, it appears that the newer festival (New Bedford Summerfest) is growing rapidly and the quality and quantity of the talent it draws from its region may make it less likely that he and his fellow midwesterners will be seeing their favorite acts from the N.E. United States in the future. "Yeah! 'Tis a shame, eh?", he muttered in his best canadian brogue. "And it'll make it one helluva stretch to ever get SharonG to be my Road Buddy to Winnipeg!". To illustrate the unfortunate polarization occurring in the folk world this July he elaborated, "This year we got Dar, they got Lucy.....We got Peter Mulvey, they got Ellis Paul.....We got the Nields and they got Eddie From Ohio....we got Karen Savoca and they got Cheryl Wheeler.....on and on like this! It's like picking a basketball team on the playground!.....I imagine that the two festivals are probably fighting right now over the very soul of Richard Shindell!...It's really too bad it has to go on like this. I mean, WHY CAN'T EVERYONE JUST GET ALONG?!....Why can't we just have ONE festival somewhere half-way....say Cleveland?" More research on how to enable humans to be in two places at one time is desperately needed now. You can help! Donations can be made to the Center for the Advancement of the Cloning of Higher Mammals c/o the Snowden Environmental Trust, PO Box 303, Chesterfield, MA 01012. Reported by E. It has a vast listernership. Therefore she is guaranteed a certain numbers of plays each and every day. It will be interesting to see if it creates extra sales for "Ten Year Night" and her other releases. To illustrate that he is lucky compared to some unfortunate mammals who have been marooned on a miscroscopic island in the middle of a very cold North Sea , this lister would like to yell: "BUT WHO DO WE GET????? STEVE EARLE FOR ONE DAY!!!!!" This statement could be interpreted as positive or negative depending on how badly this lister needs to see steve earle vs the rest of the folkin world. This lister has tickets for the latter. "Woo-hooo !!!" yelled the lister. This lister convinced her family of 6 people, including two adult bodies nearing octogenrianism and two young tadpoles under the age of 6 and one tadpole sprouting legs age 14 to come along with her. "WOOOO-HOOOO!!!" yelled the lister, " My octogenarians will pay for my vege burger!!" jenny*, who is the lister hoping that her cousin listers will join her for a bite of the free vege burger at the afore-mentioned event. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 04 Apr 2000 19:51:33 PDT From: "sharon g" Subject: [lucy-list] the first trial of the 21st century NewYork NewYork ( a hellava town) April 4, 2000 Supreme Court Today as expected the jury came in at 4:35 with the antcipated verdict of guilty.
