Delicately put. Yes - I endorse what you're saying. I wonder how many people unsubscribe as a result of those emails. Grammar and punctuation are conventions to make life easier for us all. We should try to use them a little if we can - if only to show consideration for the reader. No offence to anyone I hope. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 16 Mar 2000 09:44:08 EST From: Scharri@aol.com Subject: [lucy-list] Re: lucy-list-digest V2 #67 SHARONG - notice it is in caps.......I'm begging, not yelling.... Think your tape guy is around to tape Jules? Jules Rules! His is originally from the PIT. He just doesn't come home enough. We here are envious..... Hey Guys, I just wanted to apologize to those of you who I told I would send copies of WUMB's (91.9 FM) live folk show with Cry3 and Julie and Buddy Miller... it's a special taped on Valentine's Day of 1999 (mountain Stage). Please let me know who was interested... I am so awful at saving and figuring out all of this e-mail...I've got to get a system...ouch! Oh yeah, good luck to all who are recording... Jules and others...I have just produced my very own 'homegrown' demo cd with 3 songs. It's really cool, I even designed a cover! Playing out at open mics is great fun, too. I just played at Club Passim on Tuesday and felt all "shiverry" just knowing that I was on the very same stage as all of my folkie favs: Dar, The Nields, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez and OF COURSE: LUCY!!!! See some of you at Bottom Line on Good Friday :) Heather *) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 16 Mar 2000 12:08:28 EST From: Wblr4@aol.com Subject: Re: [lucy-list] Re: lucy-list-digest V2 #67 In a message dated 3/16/00 9:16:08 AM Central Standard Time, Scharri@aol.com writes: << SHARONG >> I had a fear with all the grammatical controversy that Sharon would get capped.....and low and behold, it happened!! wbe ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 16 Mar 2000 18:41:13 -0000 From: "David McKay" Subject: [lucy-list] lower case controversy Personally, I think the sharon we all know and love wouldn't *be* the sharon we all know and love if she capitalized, used punctuation, and corrected her spelling. Her style is hurried, and breathless, and in your face, and she's just like that in real life too! She's also got a hotline to Lucy and Rick, so you'd *better* make the time to read her postings! Keep 'em coming, sharon! :-) Dave. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 16 Mar 2000 16:19:29 -0700 From: Todd and Heather Subject: Re: [lucy-list] Re: Housekeeping Issue okay, have you heard of inventive spelling and grammer? i taught 8th grade eNgLiSh last year and i got through it all...interesting stuff and so alive, regardless of the so called 'improper' grammer and mis-spellings... as long as there was 'juice' in their writing what difference did it make...? gotta love them beats too, Jack Kerouac, man, now he was a true poet...breathless and soulful. so, i like all writing...regardless. it's like your signature--- none in the same, how boring would that be if we all were 'correct' all of the time...? arggggggggh! okay, my 2 cents... The English language is very expressive and for most people easy to comprehend. However I also have difficulty trying to decipher some of the e-mails. I never know where one sentence starts or finishes and it is really annoying. Mind you, the people who use this list come from all walks of life and probably have busy schedules. They are possibly frantically writing emails at work and doing them so fast that they do not want their bosses to find out.
