Her husband Tom Griffith is amazing, too. He has a deep lovely voice and is a master on the guitar. My weekend is starting off with John G and Cliff at the McCarter in Princeton. I am counting the hours until Fri arrives. See you Sat night. Just a note for anyone who wants to hear music by women presented by women today. Tune in to wxpn (www.wxpn.org) as they celebrate International Women's Day. Just finished a live set by Lucinda Williams from the Singer Songwriter show two years ago. Brought back good memories from a great show. I just found out that my favourite radio program in the WORLD, CBC's Saturday afternoon show, "Definitely Not the Opera" (often referred to simply as DNTO) is going to be talking about Somewhere Near Paterson (as well as Lucy Kaplansky's latest CD, Ten Year Night) this week. If you aren't lucky enough to live in Canada, you can hear the show in RealAudio at: http://cbc.ca/audio.html The show is on from 1-5pm and the Richard/Lucy piece is schedule for the 2-3pm hour. You'll want to tune into Radio One (they have streaming in many different time zones so you can actually hear it in any given hour, depending on which time zone you choose). Also, if you want to see the schedule for the entire show, visit the DNTO website at http://opera.cbc.ca/ (it really is the coolest show in the world). She said she had an additional CD coming out this fall. I must be aligned strongly to female singers...I really enjoy them. By the way, we went to a Jimmie Dale Gilmore concert last Sat. nite at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago and got his new CD after.....and guess who was on the 7th cut as back up harmony? Cry,Cry, Cry! Read Lucy's notes from her web site and she discusses their session with JDG....Buddy Miller produced the album.
