So sorry to all you folks out there in Austin land for my faux pas about Martha Trachtenberg appearing at the Bluebird there. Her gig is in Nashville, not Austin. But Geez, she'd play so well in Austin. Anybody with a venue in Austin listening in? Thanks Dave for praising my accuracy. Keep the faith, brother...I'll try harder next time. My newest recommendation: Slaid Cleaves. Yowza! It's the male world's answer to Lucinda Williams with a hint of John Prine and Ron Sexsmith. The CD, "Broke Down" is the best damned thing I've heard from a newcomer since, well, Ron Sexsmith about three years ago or more. And Slaid currently resides in the Austin area, though he's originally from Maine. Go figure. Highly, Highly Recommended. Oh yeah, I think Lucy would like him too! Sorry Luce and Rick for using your List to tout a coupla other artists...I'll beg forgiveness Sunday when I see you guys at the Common Sense Cafe. Been a while...Do you guys still eat tacos? Hee Hee. Ten Year is due for some recognition...It's full of hardy melodies, groovy rhythms and powerful lyrics and vocals...I can't say enough about the entire cd. Also, I can listen to Ten Year Night (song) over and over and it always sends vibes up my vertebrae! hehe...amazing! GOOD LUCK LUCY :) Heather *) P.S.-hidin' in the Georgia Pines?
