Hi all, Great news! WFUV is now available in streaming audio on the web. Go to the site, and click on the "Hear WFUV Now" icon. Finally, all of you non-NYC (and non-US) friends can hear what we have been talking about for so long--and sharon can quit driving around to get the signal. Go to : http://www.wfuv.org/ Today is a fund raising drive so you will hear constant pleas for contributions (which you might want to consider), but on non-fundraising drive days, there is no station more Lucy-friendly or any better. Enjoy.... I had that CD in my hands when I was in Dublin, but CDs are just so unbelieveably expensive in that country so I put it back down even though I really wanted to have a recording of Crazy Dreams. I think that's a pretty old Paul Brady song actually, 1981 if my memory serves me right. How is the rest of the CD, sharon? The only Paul Brady stuff I have is on some compilation. It's also my favourite right now. Thankyew to everybody who finally put an end to my craziness and told me the name of the michelle shocked album. Now I can beg my parents for money (ha, not likely) and go down to the record stop and buy me a copy. I'm remembering all the words now, "she says hey chelle, ya know it's kinda funny, texas always seemed so big...but you know you're in the largest state in the union..." Ahhh....And carol if you do see her on bourbon tell her she can come play here any time she likes. Also about the sobbing violins on envelopes, that's kinda funny because i once did a design with a sobbing fiddle on it for my art course. jenny* ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 17 Feb 2000 16:13:59 PST From: "sharon g" Subject: [lucy-list] wfuv got webbed today well my days of whining and crycrycrying and riding thru manhattan in my pjs to get FUV are over my terminal is BLOWing up with friends mailing me sharon go to FUV they are webbed and request your favorite song today membership day for play at later time I requested that MEG griffin 2-4 play 10 year night any time she wants... go gogogogogo and requests something lucy.. i bet meg will plat steve earle and jules shear anytime... you ask her... i think i will go back and get mary chapin played... sharon ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 17 Feb 2000 16:22:39 PST From: "sharon g" Subject: [lucy-list] wfuv sorry find em at www.wfuv.org sharonG ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 17 Feb 2000 20:14:03 -0500 From: traylor@juno.com Subject: [lucy-list] Lucy and Dee << The 352-seat Barns of Wolf Trap hosted Lucy and harpist-singer-songwriter Dee Carstensen on the day before Valentines Day >> There must have been a radio interview earlier that day. My sister called from Maryland to tell me she'd heard these great folk singers on the radio and wanted to know if I knew them. (She never seemed that interested in folk singers before.) They were .... Dee and Lucy. She said that I should try to catch them. I laughed. I told her that I knew of Dee and had yet to hear her music but she was on my list of people to make an effort to hear. However, I am a card carrying member of the lucy-list. The good news is she's going out to buy their CDs. I am going to send her a Shindell/Mulvey 3x2 sampler when they arrive. and get her hooked on Shindell too. Just so funny her telling me things like "You may not know this but Lucy was a psychologist before returning to singing full time." You never know who will be converted next!
