I'd seen Lucy in January in Palm Beach, Fla., and she'd told the whiskey anecdote. She didn't seem pleased with herself afterwards, thinking she'd bored us, but I'm always looking for liquor recommendations, mentally-healthy person that I am. So, I wasn't bored, but had forgotten the name of the *non-tourist* brand. I asked on this list, and now I have my answer. I'd been drinking a brand of Irish whiskey called Full's, after seeing an old episode of Columbo with a poet/arms-runner villain who liked verse and left a clue - a private pun - with a double meaning to being "paid in full." But that's hard to find. I don't know if Power's is a blend or a single malt? But thanks for the info! By the way, everyone should read Flann O'Brien's AT SWIM-TWO-BIRDS; brilliantly written and bitingly funny classic Irish writing. --Adam ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Feb 2000 11:50:16 PST From: "sharon g" Subject: [lucy-list] the lucy frenzy in brooklyn i cant think about fixin ya blues i went over to ask cliff if he knew that rosebud review worked me into a rockin doc k festival it started with 10 yearnight and rockin all over my livingroon then teh Mountain stage broadcast- i scope from WUMB whine- not from FUV- that i cannot receive in brooklyn dont try to sent them paltry dollars they are not a pacifica taht is BAI here in NY -the voice of the people sat am is celtic music on fuv and nothing except fordham U basketball interrupts their celtic saturday back to lucy - you all in Pittsburgh reminded why i swam in the pity pit over missing that show..."the summer i swam in the pity pit" sounds like a GREAT show- we want new music too- well we get our share- i cant play the greed too much-that you to my couriers and those making the delivery... thanks to bill and carol and sue and tom for the show news who is next? oh have i lost lucy again well i am off to hte tide and flesh and bones for the saturday lucy fest in brooklyn at WSDG nect commerical interruption or when i have to get my stuff out of the dryer i'll be back... that's a threat... sharon ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Feb 2000 23:04:31 -0000 From: "Jenny" Subject: Re: [lucy-list] newport again Yo lucy blisters... >You four are gonna have a great time >froggy ddi you send the stalker note to them? Hmmm. I really enjoy whisky, usually Scotch single malts. I'm no conny-sewer, and I'll now look out for Powers.
