We saw Karen Savoca last nite in Chicago....her concert was excellent. For
those of you who have never heard her or listened to her music we are talking
very talented. It would be had for lucylisters not to like her contribution
to the kind of music that we like.

If anyone has a chance to go see her...I highly recommend it! She does a somg
called "Another Day" that will have you in tears.

Hi everyone,
I just got back from ten days in Ireland today and it was just splendid -
thought I'd share a little story of how some advice from Ludy came in most
handy at some point during that trip: at the concerts I saw in January she
told us how when she toured Ireland last she spent a night drinking whisky
with Paul Brady and how he told her that the whisky the Irish drink (as
opposed to the one tourists drink I suppose) is a brand called Powers. (all
you Irish folks on the list, don't yell at me now if this isn't true, I'm
just the messenger :-) ) Well, I was sitting in a pub in Dublin the first
night of the trip and a friend of mine said: so tell me, what whisky should
I order? I am not a whisky person really so I told her how this singer
songwriter I had just seen in the States said Powers was most tasty, and it
turend out she was so right about that! Now I'm really not a heavy drinker
most of the time, but boy is that yummy stuff and I'm sure glad I followed
Lucy's/ Paul Brady's advice here, even though too much of that stuff and
hardly any sleep makes for a dangerous combination :-)
Anyway, just wanted to post this little random Lucy story. Now I'll go back
to reading the zillion mails I had waiting for me and will be back with some
more Lucy-content soon. In the meantime I'll do my best not to open the
bottle of Powers I brought...

And karen was terriffic -- her guitar player was pretty awesome too..i

KS/PH & LK pur on a great show. LK sang backup on "Till My Heart", while
Karen sang backup on "Ten Year Night", "Someday Soon", and "I've Just Seen
A Face"
I recommend Bodles as well. Living 10 miles from it is a treat as well.
Kelly Willis put on a great show there as well.
