I've since forgotten whom I loaned it to and have been vainly trying to remember while you all talked about the last concert and the previous performances. Then, the other night, I saw Buddy Mondlock on PBS with Peter, Paul and Mary. The hairs on my neck stood up as I heard "The Kid". I couldn't remember where I'd heard it... An internet search that resulted in the Cry Cry Cry album made me remember suddenly, and I went out at lunch the next day and bought the CD again. I've been listening to it over and over. I feel like cry cry crying that I haven't gotten to hear them live and won't. It's an odd repetition. I tend to buy more than one of Lucy and Dar's music. I get so excited listening to them I lend them out and never see them again. I am down in the French Quarter of New Orleans this week and we are listening to Iris Dement as I write and it's because of the high regard that many of you expressed for her that her cd was added and I have to say that she is so good. I am always surprised that more people don't enjoy this kind of music...it doesn't mean you can't enjoy a whole bunch of other stuff as well but it is really good music by any measure in my opinion. Thanks. wbe ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 14 Jan 2000 11:43:33 EST From: Wblr4@aol.com Subject: Re: [lucy-list] Cry Cry Cry, again In a message dated 1/14/00 8:59:50 AM Central Standard Time, dlavange@neticus.com writes: << It's an odd repetition. Well, cold or no cold, I'm determined to make it through the evening. My sisters and I are gonna see Lucy tonite in Charlotte, NC. I'll be the one in the back trying to sniff quietly. If my meds start to knock me out, at least I won't be the one driving... Oh, that is going to happen for sure, I'm such a live music addict. But I'm actually working on getting a Green Card and moving back to the States in the not so distant future (I already spent a couple of years in the US a while back). Keep your fingers crossed for me guys, I might win the Green Card Lottery this time round... > And until Lucy puts out another collection, we can at > least look forward to the new album from Richard Shindell, which I have > ordered and hope will arrive any day now. Oh, that is such a great album, it has not left my CD player since I got it at the Cry3 concert and I'm torturing my fingers with way more guitar playing than what is healthy right now, learning a few of those wonderful songs. Richard is just a grand story teller and one of my favorite voices ever - his voice just kinda wraps itself around you. I'd love to see Lucy and him put out an album together at some point, it is so much fun to see them on stage together and it definitely looks as if they enjoy working together, too. Donoss53@aol.com asked: > hi katrin how did u like boston i live there Lucky you! I loved it there, this was actually my second time in Boston and it sure wasn't my last. thanks for the welcome everyone, Katrin PS: Does anybody know where I can find the tabs to Scorpion? ------------------------------ End of lucy-list-digest V2 #8 ***************************** This has been a posting from the Lucy Kaplansky mail list digest To unsubscribe send mail to Majordomo@smoe.org with "unsubscribe lucy-list-digest" in the body of the message
